It actually allows for better control of the amount used right up to the last drop. The texture feels like a soothing gel, but it doesn't run, which is great. When applying, there's a cool sensation. It spreads with a hydrating feel, absorbs well without any stickiness, and leaves a smooth finish. After application, you can see an instant boost in your skin's Inner Glow. Though it's labeled as a serum, it feels like a hybrid between a hydrating moisturizer and a serum. Post-application, it's as if your skin is enveloped in a thin, protective layer.
ConsIt's probably best to follow up with a cream. Since it's not very rich, those with dry skin might feel it absorbs too quickly.
TipAfter cleansing, I applied this serum and then used a cream-type sheet mask. The next morning, my skin felt noticeably more plump and bouncy.

First, my skin type is: ✓ Combination sensitive skin ✓ Oily T-zone with excess sebum ✓ Combination dehydrated skin I had seen the Arencia Hyssop Serum on social media even before The Hwahae Testers, and I'm sure many people, including myself, were curious about the 'cool-toned serum' claim! Usually, when ads use 'cool-toned = pink-toned skin', I thought, 'Does it brighten the skin with a pink hue? Isn't this false advertising?' But looking at the product details, what appealed to me most was the 'reduction of dark skin tone'! And that's where I saw the most noticeable results. ▪️Texture: It's a thicker serum than I expected. When I first opened it, the transparent, water-like appearance was so beautiful, like looking at the sea... 🌊💙 The visual makes you want to scoop it up and apply it all over. ▪️Application: Despite its fresh appearance, it's quite rich! As the weather warmed up, it felt a bit oily for my combination dehydrated skin. However, the upside is that it spreads smoothly and comfortably even in small amounts. The best part was feeling a real improvement in my dull complexion! I have some blemishes due to excess sebum, but no freckles or dark spots, so I couldn't really test its effectiveness on those. However, as I mentioned earlier, I used to worry about my face turning sallow by the next day after cleansing and skincare... 🥲 With consistent use of this product, I noticed my skin gradually becoming clearer and brighter ❌ fairer 🙆♀️. I'm only in week two, so I haven't suddenly become crystal clear, but the post-cleansing brightness subtly lasts. It's one of the few products where I've actually felt a difference, compared to vitamin serums or retinol I've tried before. Even in the morning, my skin looks as clear as if I've had a good night's sleep. I'm really satisfied with just this effect!
ConsAs I mentioned in the application section, this product feels quite rich! I don't think it's an ideal texture for combination or combination dehydrated skin like mine. It doesn't feel overly sticky or cause blemishes due to its richness, but I'd recommend using a lightweight cream or emulsion as your final step!
TipSince the product already contains vitamin, it's best to avoid using another vitamin-infused product in your toner or final step! When I got greedy and double-layered, my skin reacted as if irritated and broke out slightly.

Texture & Application: It has an aloe gel-like texture! However, unlike aloe gel that absorbs quickly, this tends to sit thickly on the skin when applied. It feels like it could even be used as a massage gel. Brightening: While my skin is quite fair, my mouth area and neck have a yellowish tint. I don't use brightening products daily, but I do when I feel my skin looks too yellow or dull. After using it consistently for several days, I definitely saw a brightening effect! The yellowish area around my mouth became similar to my cheek color, resulting in a more even complexion. As a cool-toned serum, I can say its brightening effectiveness was outstanding!
ConsHydration & Richness: I have dry skin, so I usually focus on a thorough skincare routine in winter. However, while testing this product (the instructions say to use only this serum), I experienced deep dryness. As mentioned earlier, it sits thickly on the skin, but I couldn't feel any hydration. The richness is close to zero. When I applied more, it seemed to clog my pores, causing small bumps. I'm not sure if it's suitable for winter use again. For those with dry skin, winter is all about hydration and nourishment over other effects, right? Sigh. I plan to use it again when the weather gets warmer and I need brightening! Overall: While it had a brightening effect, as someone with dry skin, it lacked hydration and richness, perhaps due to seasonal mismatch. I intend to try it again in summer!

As someone with sensitive skin that usually reacts to pure vitamin serums, I didn't experience any irritation even when applying this product generously morning and night. No blemishes appeared, and it suited my skin well overall. Since I've only used it for about two weeks, I can't really comment on its skin brightening effects yet. I'll need to use it longer to tell. I really appreciated that it's fragrance-free. While the jar packaging is a bit inconvenient, the teal color catches my eye every time I use it, which gives me a little mood boost. The texture is like a transparent, soothing gel cream. It's incredibly hydrating and doesn't dry quickly, making it perfect for use with skincare devices.
ConsI have combination dehydrated skin, and when I used only this product in the serum step followed by a cream, I felt some deep dryness after a while. In my experience, it seems to provide more hydration than moisture. So in cold, dry winter weather with indoor heating, the hydration seemed to evaporate, leaving my skin feeling dry. In winter, you definitely need to follow up with a rich cream for proper moisturization. For the same reason, I wouldn't recommend using it as a sleeping pack these days. However, this aspect might make it much more suitable for summer use. It could be perfect on its own without a cream in the warmer months. + While marketing it as a 'cool tone' serum is one thing, naming the product itself as such somewhat reduces its credibility. Does clear and transparent skin equal cool-toned? It feels like outdated marketing to me.
