It has a slightly artificial rose scent. Before opening, I thought it was just a regular gauze pad, but it's actually a mitt-like pad you can slip your fingers into. One side is a gauze pad, while the other has a textured, soft surface that's great for exfoliating dead skin cells and evening out skin texture. The gauze side was effective at removing dead skin cells and excess oil, and although it was a bit stimulating, the textured side seemed to have a soothing effect when I gently swept it across my skin. The pad is generously soaked in essence, leaving my skin feeling hydrated after use. While the tea tree scent wasn't bothersome, the rose vita and royal honey versions have really strong fragrances. The scent lingered even after I washed my face. The gauze side is a bit rough, so it can be somewhat irritating. Using it with my fingers inside wasn't as convenient as I expected, so I ended up just tearing it in half. It would have been better if it came as two separate pads - one gauze and one textured - instead.
