It's not very effective as a lip mask for softening dead skin cells on the lips. Even if you apply a thick layer before bed, you'll still find some flakes when wiping with a wet wipe the next morning. Your lips feel soft, but some dead skin remains stubbornly in place.

As a lip balm, it keeps your lips moisturized for a long time and gives them a beautiful glow. I apply it generously, and when used this way, the hydration doesn't evaporate quickly. It's slightly sticky, but not excessively so. I use it with peace of mind since it doesn't cause any allergic reactions on my lips or surrounding skin. If you have dry and sensitive lips, it might be worth picking up when it's on sale. However, if you prefer lightweight, thin application like stick-type balms, you might not enjoy this. Applying it thinly can make it feel tacky and make your lips stick together. That's why I end up using more, and it runs out quickly.

I've been dealing with unexplained lip atopic dermatitis for over 6 months and was looking for a gentle product with minimal ingredients and no fragrance. I wanted to buy a couple - one for my desk and one to carry around. I was previously using Liphlyph in a tube, which I was completely satisfied with in terms of texture, absorption, and hydration, but it was too expensive to buy multiple...

Then I came across this lip balm. I bought it because the ingredients and reviews seemed good. My lips were suffering from what might be atopic dermatitis or cheilitis - the skin around my lips was shriveled, dry, itchy, and would turn red when scratched, which was really uncomfortable. Applying this generously seemed to calm things down. Of course, it's not a medication so it doesn't have any healing properties, but it definitely forms a moisture barrier. The ingredients are so gentle that unlike other lip balms which stung, I could apply this and Liphlyph even beyond my lip line without any itching or irritation at all. It also didn't cause any blemishes.

The transparent opening gives a clean feeling. There's less residue left at the opening compared to other tube-type lip balms, making me wonder if it's made with a different technique or material. In my opinion, it's not sticky, but it's not completely non-sticky either. I bought it during a 1+1 promotion and then bought another 1+1 during the next promotion. That's how satisfied I am with it.

Overall, comparing tube lip balms, I'd rank them as Tosowoong < One Thing = Dermatory Peptide < Liphlyph. One Thing has a lighter, non-sticky, smooth and soft texture, while this one has a slightly thicker, longer-lasting, and chewy texture. With occasional 1+1 promotions, it might even be better value for money than One Thing.

While you could use this as an overnight lip mask, I found that on days when I had severe dead skin cells on my lips, it didn't fully soften and remove them. If you struggle with extremely dry, flaky lips, you might be better off purchasing a more well-known lip mask from another brand.

I bought this as a lip balm to apply over other lip products, and I'm pleased it comes in a squeeze tube, which doesn't mess up the lip color underneath. The texture has some substance to it, so when applied a bit thickly, it instantly gives a beautiful shine to the lips and even reduces the appearance of fine lines. Despite this, it doesn't feel heavy on the lips, nor is it overly thick or sticky. The hydration lasts quite a while too.

This product seems to address the issues I had with the Etude lip mask. Unlike the thick, sticky lip masks that were hard to remove even with wet wipes and didn't effectively exfoliate, the Dermatory lip mask comes off easily with gentle wiping, which I'm very satisfied with.

Instead of applying it before bed and removing it in the morning, I recommend leaving it on for 5-10 minutes, then removing it and reapplying a thin layer for best results.

While it's nice that it's not sticky, unlike other lip balms that plump up dry skin overnight as if your lips were soaked in water, this one doesn't do that.
