ProsI tried the Espoir Volume Cushion in shade 22 with a Daiso house sponge puff for application. I had been eyeing this tangerine-toned blush and impulsively bought it when I saw it on sale at my local Olive Young. The actual pan color has a slightly redder undertone than in photos. However, when applied thinly on the skin, it seems to pull more yellow. It's quite saturated, really screaming 'I'm a tangerine! An orange!' with its vibrant hue. The pigmentation is good, which might be polarizing, but it's exactly the tangerine flush I was after. It's a bit bold for everyday wear, so I often mix it with other products or apply it lightly.
ConsWhen I used it, I noticed some base makeup lifting. I'm not very experienced with cream blushes, so I'm not sure if this is a product issue or a tool problem. If anyone knows of good tools for applying cream blush, I'd really appreciate recommendations!
TipI'm the type to try and make products work even if they have flaws, so I'm still using it despite the issues. To combat the base lifting problem, I apply this before my base makeup. When using it alone, I apply it generously and then blend it out with a cushion to neutralize the intensity. If I want to layer it with other blushes, I apply it lightly first and then layer on top. This softens the bold color and prevents base makeup from lifting - it's great! When layering with other blushes, I choose a cooler-toned product for the second layer. This creates a balanced finish that's neither too tangerine-like nor too cool-toned floating on the skin.
