The finish is nice and matte. The jar is filled to the brim. I didn't experience any itching or heat on my skin. It has that signature Avène cream feel. I think it would work well for those with blemish-prone skin too. It leaves the skin feeling a bit too matte, which might not be ideal before applying makeup. It seems better suited for nighttime use, but one cream alone doesn't feel quite enough. For best results, I'd recommend using a toner to prep the skin, followed by a serum, before applying this cream.
