The texture reminds me of the Ink the Gelato from long ago, with a water-gel formula. Unlike back then when it would dry out and emphasize dead skin cells over time, this one feels like it has a moisturizing layer on top, finishing velvety without any dryness. It's as if the moisturizing tint formula, where color stays at the bottom and a hydrating layer rises to the top over time, has evolved into a water-velvet version. While the lip swatches on the product page look vibrant and intense, the actual color on the lips is slightly more muted. Even from the hand swatch, you can see it's pigmented when applied, but when sheered out on the lips, it gives a soft, subdued look. If you want more intensity, you can layer it, but personally, I find it prettier when applied thinly for a delicate look. Perhaps due to the water-gel moisturizing layer, it doesn't transfer much, so the staying power is decent. It also stains the lips, leaving some color even after removal. The scent is a subtle, sweet mango fragrance.
ConsFirst, the packaging is both a pro and a con. The package, shaped like a light stick, has Peripera's unique charm, but it's also heavier compared to traditional tints. So for someone like me who carries multiple lip products, it might make my makeup pouch weigh more. Also, a typical drawback of these water-gel tints is that they tend to set well only on the inner part of the lips. I thought this might have improved over time, but it seems this issue is unavoidable. The rounded handle means you can't stand the applicator upright. Lastly, if you accidentally smack your lips together, it can create a white buildup on the inner part of your lips, so absolutely avoid doing that.
