Adhesion As someone who truly loves gel masks, I can confidently say this has the best adhesion of any I've tried! It's the first time I've felt a mask truly cling to my skin. The perforations must be doing their job because there's absolutely no slipping! 2. Thickness / Hydration / Absorption Compared to the famous brand's mask, this one is thinner! While I'd leave the other on for 2-3 hours, the Welderma becomes 70% transparent after just an hour! Despite this, it feels like it delivers more hydration to the skin than the other brand. I'd say it's easily in the top 3 for moisture among gel masks - definitely its strongest feature! 3. Effects / Soothing With my large pores, both soothing and tightening are important. As expected from a gel mask, the soothing effect is great! It cools down the skin temperature, which was great for calming facial heat. The high collagen content was beneficial for pores and fine lines. I didn't notice much effect on blemishes though. It works hard for pores, heat reduction, and firmness!
Cons1. Fragrance As someone with sensitive skin prone to redness and atopic dermatitis flare-ups, I prefer products with a natural scent rather than added fragrances. This was the biggest disappointment for me. The scent reminds me of old-fashioned cosmetics. It's not overpowering, but it's not subtle either and lingers for a while. 2. Stickiness Like other collagen masks, there's some stickiness, but this one seems particularly tacky - probably due to its high collagen content. While it doesn't feel too sticky on the face, my hair kept getting caught in the mask while wearing it. I lost quite a bit of hair trying to detangle it! But there's no residual stickiness on the skin after removal. 3. Blemishes Using the mask every other day, I developed blemishes I didn't have before. Rather than blaming the product, this is likely my skin's typical reaction to new products. I kept using it consistently, but the breakouts kept increasing. It seems there might be an ingredient that irritates my super sensitive skin... While it's a hydrating and nice product, I think it's just my sensitive skin causing issues.
TipMy dry skin became hydrated and translucent after an hour of use. Since the mask is thin, I recommend using it for 1 hour rather than 2 hours.
