After application, your skin feels smooth. One 230ml bottle lasts for ages. It has a brightening effect that improves your complexion.
ConsI managed to use up the whole bottle, but it's quite pricey, so I bought it duty-free. Initially, I experienced some itching and redness when using it (which went away with continued use). Since I have dry skin, I need to follow up with a hydrating cream. If you're new to fermented skincare, make sure to patch test for compatibility. And the smell... at first, I thought it smelled like saliva (though you get used to it and don't notice it after a while)!

I guess it helped me realize that galactomyces doesn't suit my skin?
Cons- The infamous fermented smell... though you do get used to it. - The real issue was that despite rarely having problems with skincare products, when I applied this generously, it made my skin itchy. I had to wash it off immediately and apply a different cream, which calmed my skin right away. After that, I rarely used it, but feeling wasteful, I tried it again after a long break. It seemed my skin was slowly adapting, as it felt a bit better than the first time. I now use it occasionally as a skin pack, applying it liberally. Still, it's such a shame and disappointment.
TipBe cautious if you're sensitive to fermented products. Try using just a small amount at first.

It just didn't suit me because of its water-based formula.
ConsAs someone with dry and sensitive skin, I took a chance despite the high price, hoping it would work. Unfortunately, it wasn't right for me. It caused itching, stinging, and a burning sensation. It even made my skin flake.

I must have gone through dozens of bottles! I have dehydrated, blemish-prone skin with atopic dermatitis. At first, I wasn't sure if it was good for me or not. But after using it for years, I once forgot to buy it and only used cream for a few days. My skin became so dry, flaky, and dull in just that short time! Since then, I always make sure to order more before I run out. <The same product is cheaper online than in domestic department stores or duty-free shops>. It's definitely great for smoothing dead skin cells and brightening. I've tried a few other famous essences from other brands, including cheaper versions of SK-II, but they caused contact dermatitis-like breakouts and redness the next day. So I went right back to using only SK-II.
ConsI think the best skincare product is the one that works for you. No matter how expensive, even the SK-II cream made my skin itchy, so I couldn't use it! Use reviews as a reference, but make sure to test it for a week before committing. The main drawback of SK-II is its high price, but these days it's easier to buy directly from overseas and has become more affordable than before. After several reformulations, I wish they would remove the parabens, but they really won't budge on that. Since it's a fermented product, I figure it's better than using cosmetics that might go bad, so I'm still using it for now!
TipWhen dead skin cells start to build up in spring, I soak a cotton pad with SK-II and gently pat it on my face. It works great for exfoliating and hydrating! I have super sensitive skin, so I can't use peeling gels or harsh foam cleansers. Hope this helps!

I'm truly envious of those who find this product works well for them!
ConsWhile it seemed to have some effect on my small bumps, I unfortunately experienced an allergic-like reaction. I developed a couple of itchy, non-squeezable blemishes when using this product.
TipIf it doesn't suit you, the best tip is to stop using it. I ended up giving it to my sister with healthier skin.

I use it with thin gauze cotton pads, and even though it's an essence, it has a great moisturizing effect like a toner. A little goes a long way, covering a large area, so I could use it for about 4-5 months. Considering that, the price isn't too high for the amount you get. I usually use brightening products, and when I used this alongside other brightening products from Y and K brands, it seemed to help with blemishes. It also prevented new spots from appearing.
ConsThe scent is really like, well, poop. My weak stomach sometimes made this smell a diet aid - goodbye appetite! At first, it was irritating and itchy on my skin. I kept using it thinking I'd get my money's worth, and after a month it seemed okay, but it was still too harsh for me to consider repurchasing. I've used K brand's blue toner before, but this Pitera essence was particularly irritating, even stinging when I put the cotton pad near my eyes. Maybe the fermented ingredients don't agree with me. I always had to follow up with a cica cream after using this.

I bought it in my 20s, but it caused a lot of blemishes, so I ended up throwing it away. I thought things might be different in my 30s, so I fell for the advertising and bought it again. The result? Massive breakouts and my skin became super sensitive. I suffered for about a month... Feeling wasteful, I tried using it on my neck, but even there I got huge pimples. I'm shocked... What a waste of money!
ConsI bought this from duty-free, so it's definitely authentic. However, it caused itching and a explosion of blemishes. The scent is like a rotten mop... I absolutely won't buy this again.
TipThe best tip is not to buy it at all.

It was incredibly moisturizing and amazing for calming my skin. Even though I'm not fond of Japanese products, I used it knowingly, pretending I didn't know its origin. It was fantastic as a cotton pad mask and as an exfoliating toner. I used it for so many purposes that I always bought the largest size. When I couldn't use it anymore, my brother started using it. He saw great results too, calling it a game-changer. He said it improved his complexion without any irritation. It's suitable for men as well.
ConsAfter my skin reacted badly, everything seemed to irritate it. I tried using this again, hoping it would help, but my skin turned red and became unbearably itchy, making it impossible to use. I had bought a new bottle that's now just sitting unused. So my brother started using it instead. I'm annoyed that my money is being used to improve my brother's skin! The scent is really off-putting, like saliva.
TipI used to soak cotton pads generously and use them as a mask, then reapply to soothe my skin. Given the current situation, I'm actually relieved I'm not using it anymore.

The essence-type formula was incredibly hydrating, absorbing into my skin like water. It was so comfortable to use and I loved it! I thought to myself, 'Ah, so this is why it has such a fancy name and a high price tag!'
ConsI have extremely sensitive skin with atopic dermatitis, which might be why I had such a bad reaction. I applied it like a skin pack on my cheeks and forehead for about 10 minutes, but oh no! My face turned red, felt stinging, and became itchy. It seems this product just isn't suitable for me. I tried it twice using the same method, but both times my skin was left in such a state that it took quite a while for my skin to recover!
TipI've heard that some people, like myself, don't react well to the ingredient 'Galactomyces'. Keep this in mind, and if you experience any irritation, stop using the product immediately! After trying the sample, I ended up giving the full-size product to my mom.

ConsFirst of all, my atopic dermatitis has worsened. The skin itchiness has become severe, and small breakouts like milia have appeared. It started getting worse right after I applied it, and it would subside when I stopped using it, so it seems the essence is the culprit. If you can test it, please do so and apply it to your face.
