  Pros

  While any foundation needs a good base, this product is first and foremost not heavy, which is great. It does a nice job of color correction. In the summer, I just use this alone, and in the winter, I mix it with Vaseline and a moisturizer, which allows me to use much less foundation while still getting good coverage. It also doesn't slide around even after applying other base products and sunscreen.

  Cons

  This is not a high-coverage product. I use a stick concealer to cover blemishes first, and then apply this by hand on top.

  Tip

  Using this together with the Shu Uemura dual-ended concealer pencil works really well~

  The Shu Uemura foundation is the Face Architect 774, and the more moisturizing foundation that was recently released... Ah, I used the Light Bulb 774 before. This has better coverage and a more velvety finish. Those with dry skin should use the Light Bulb! I have combination skin - dry on the cheeks and oily in the T-zone. I applied a strong base on my cheeks and found this foundation provided good coverage and an even tone, which I was very satisfied with. And even after a long time, it doesn't break down as much, and as the facial oils come through, it gives a nice glow.

  1. As I mentioned, it may not be great for dry skin... It feels a bit drying. In the morning when I'm in a rush, if I just apply cream without layering the base, and then slap this on, it's a disaster! 2. And the color has a stronger yellow undertone than the Light Bulb 😢 I have skin with a lot of redness in the 21-22 shade range, so the color works fine for me. With this one concealer can cover my blemishes, and my skin makeup is done.

  It's a bit too yellow, so I mix it with the pink-toned, affordable Kate foundation I have. That helps me adjust it to a more neutral tone.
