Even if you choose the cheapest option during a duty-free sale, it will still cost around 80,000 won. And if you buy the budget-friendly version for around 10,000 won, the volume is only about 150ml, so you'd need to buy it three times, which ends up costing close to 50,000 won.
Furthermore, the texture is heavier, so you need to use more product for the massage, which means the cost may end up being similar to the Shu Uemura one. I try to console myself and consider buying it again.

Although I haven't tried many different types of cleansing oils, Shu Uemura is undoubtedly the best among them.
It has great cleansing power and, most importantly, it doesn't feel heavy when applied. It spreads on the skin like water. If it were heavy, it would require more pressure when massaging, but since it's light, it glides on smoothly without much effort. I have combination skin with acne, so I always finish with a foam cleanser, but for those with dry skin, you may not even need a separate foam cleanser as it doesn't leave a sticky residue and keeps the skin moisturized.
There are many varieties, but the main difference is in the fragrance. If you buy the large size (480ml) during a duty-free sale, you can use it for a very long time.

For double cleansing, it's better to use a gentler product rather than something super squeaky-clean! (I use the Vichy mild acidic foam)
If you use a product that's too squeaky-clean like Perfect Whip, you might not get to enjoy the moisturizing benefits of the oil cleanse.

The price is a bit of a downside... I stock up on it during duty-free sales, but even that has its limits. If you need a really squeaky-clean feeling after cleansing, this may not be the best option for you.

I've been using it since I was 20 years old, and I keep coming back to it even after trying other oils.
There's just no other oil like it. The emulsion is so smooth that it's easy to cleanse and removes makeup well.
There's no tightness after cleansing, and it's an irreplaceable product.
