This product has a white, slightly viscous emulsion-like texture. It's a bit thinner than your typical emulsion and feels like a concentrated essence used in place of toner, without any purified water. Made with extracts like Polygonum cuspidatum and Zanthoxylum piperitum, which are great for inflammation and blemish-prone skin, I bought it hoping it would help my troubled complexion. After application, it leaves no oily residue but feels incredibly hydrating, as if it's created a protective film on the skin. The application experience is quite unique. (I personally apply it by first spreading it all over with my palms, letting it absorb, then generously applying a second layer like an essence.) Since using this product, my skin texture has become smoother and more refined, my pores seem smaller, and my complexion has become more even. While I don't think it's necessarily brightened my skin, the improved evenness does make it appear somewhat brighter (though this might just be my perception). Even my small blemishes have subsided. It's the first time I've been this satisfied with just a toner... (That's why I deducted one star.) While the surface feels smooth and glowy, after a short while it can feel a bit dry, so you'll need to apply a moisturizer. On another note, while it's a positive in terms of quality, the thick glass bottle makes it quite heavy.
