My blackhead removal journey: The Face Shop nose pack → Elizabeth nose pack → Skinmiso nose pack → and now, Innisfree Out Balm. That's been my nose pack life story! (I've tried others like 3-step packs and CNP Laboratory packs, but I'm focusing on the ones that consistently worked for me!) I switched from peel-off masks to dissolving ones because the peel-offs were making my pores uncontrollably larger and wider, with sebum constantly refilling them. While dissolving packs didn't enlarge my pores, that was about all they did. Then I discovered the oil method for removing blackheads, which led me to try Out Balm - and it's truly amazing! Of course, if you're used to the clean feeling after peel-off or dissolving packs, this might feel less satisfying at first. I felt the same way! But it does remove most visible blackheads. Plus, unlike peel-off or dissolving packs where blackheads reappear after 3 days due to imperfect pore shrinkage, this product delays that process! I'd recommend this to anyone concerned about blackheads but worried about pore enlargement from traditional packs. Update (11/12): It definitely keeps pores from getting bigger! Large sebum plugs are removed, while smaller ones remain but are less noticeable. For those smaller plugs, AHA or BHA products work well to dissolve them. It might take longer and feel less satisfying, but in the long run, it's better for your skin and pore reduction. If blackheads really bother you, using a dissolving pack once a month should be fine!
When I first used it, the smell was off-putting. Also, I found it quite bothersome that you need to emulsify it thoroughly before wiping it off.
I bought some silicone tool, but I only used it once. It felt more irritating and didn't even remove sebum. For application, you should massage for about 10 minutes. Massaging too long can irritate the skin and cause it to absorb too much oil.
