1. Great Value for Money This vitamin C serum oxidizes quickly, so it's recommended to use it within three months. That's why it comes in a small 20ml size. Even considering this, it's more affordable than competing products—I picked mine up for under 10,000 won. 2. Smart Packaging Design The dark, opaque bottle protects against light-induced oxidation so you can't see the contents. To prevent oxygen-related breakdown, the bottle comes sealed with a protective seal the first time you open it. 3. Excellent Oxidation Stability Even after two months of use with refrigeration, there's barely any color change. 4. Minimal Irritation There's a slight tingling, but it doesn't cause breakouts or any adverse reactions. 5. Impressive Results on Discoloration and Scars Doesn't do much for age spots or freckles, but it works incredibly well on post-acne marks. (I lost my before photos, so I can't share a comparison.) It outperforms pharmacy scar gels like Scar Derm. Compared to using scar cream for a month, then stopping for months, then using this vitamin C serum consistently for a month and a half—this serum caused less irritation, wasn't as itchy, and delivered better results. 6. Noticeably Improved Skin Barrier The high-concentration vitamin C boosts collagen production, so my dull, rough skin definitely feels more hydrated and healthier overall. That said, fine lines—especially smile lines—didn't see major improvement. You'd probably need longer-term use or professional treatments for those. 1. Can Cause Tingling Around Eyes If it gets in your eyes, it stings quite a bit. Be extra careful, especially if you wear contacts regularly or have had vision correction surgery. 2. Leaves Yellow Stains on Surrounding Items If you apply it before bed, I'd recommend using disposable pillowcases. Even small amounts on your hands leave stubborn yellow marks, so wash your hands thoroughly after use. 3. Oxidation Prevention Requires Care Once oxidized, it can actually harm your skin, so always seal the bottle tightly and store it in the refrigerator after each use. 4. Dropper Doesn't Reach the Bottom When there's a little left sloshing around at the end, you have to pour some into a small dish, tilt it, and use the dropper to suck it up before dotting it on your face. It's tedious. (I don't recommend just rubbing the sticky residue on your hands since it leaves yellow stains.) 5. Skip the Powder Since ascorbic acid is water-loving and absorbs better when slightly tacky, leave your skin feeling dewy rather than powdered. If you use powder, it'll pill and flake off like dirt (speaking from experience). 1. Prep with a Mild Acidic Toner Dampen your face with a pH-balanced toner first so the water-loving, acidic ascorbic acid absorbs into your skin more effectively. 2. Wait About 15 Minutes Give the serum time to fully absorb after application. 3. Layer with Hyaluronic Acid Serum Apply one or two drops of hyaluronic acid serum next. 4. Wait 5 More Minutes 5. Apply a Barrier Cream Lock everything in with a nourishing moisturizer. 6. Finish with Sunscreen Use your go-to SPF product to complete your routine. - rn*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcneAtopic SkinRecommendedDec 10, 2025 (UTC+0)
*This review was written on the day of first use. 1. Antioxidant packaging The packaging is really thoughtful, especially since this contains pure vitamin C. The dropper comes separately sealed to prevent unnecessary air exposure. 2. Irritation The irritation is actually milder than I expected. When I layered it 2-3 times, I only felt a slight tingling sensation that goes away if you wait it out. Personally, I found it less irritating than 7% glycolic acid. My skin is super sensitive with a history of eczema and dryness. I had recently damaged my skin barrier and spent a week recovering before trying this. The only issue was one small blemish that turned red, but otherwise no major side effects. 3. Ingredient formula With 23% ascorbic acid plus panthenol and vitamin E, the high-concentration vitamin C absorbs stably and the panthenol helps reduce some of the irritation. I really appreciate getting such potent vitamin C without excessive irritation and at a great price point. 4. Value for money I purchased it on sale for around 14,000 won, which is even cheaper than CosRX. I'm really happy with that price. 5. Oil and moisture balance When I layered it 3 times, it felt sticky and rich. There's a protective film sensation, so I didn't experience significant dryness afterward. Those with oily skin might find that sticky layer uncomfortable. I have some pretty noticeable acne scars on my cheeks, and I'll share results on whether this helps after a month! 1. Oxidation concern (will check again after a month) Depending on the lighting, it looked slightly yellowed from the first day I opened it, suggesting oxidation (see photo 1, taken against white paper). Other reviews mention the oxidation happens fairly quickly, so I'd recommend sealing the container tightly and treating refrigeration as essential, not optional. 2. Packaging improvement wish (individual sachets) I've seen affordable plastic containers with individual vitamin serum vials like artificial tears these days. If this vitamin C came in that format, it would prevent oxidation and be even better. 3. Pilling occurs After cleansing, I applied the vitamin C 2-3 times on bare skin, waited 10-15 minutes, then layered my usual products and mineral sunscreen. After 2-3 hours, it started pilling like dead skin cells (see photo 2). The skin looks smooth on the surface, but when I rub with my fingertip or nail after the sunscreen sets, white flakes come off like dead skin. This pilling doesn't happen without sunscreen. When I apply powder over the mineral sunscreen, by evening when I use cleansing oil, it completely wipes away like eraser shavings. *Products used - Wellage hyaluronic acid serum - Purito squalane toner - O'TwoLab Ectomide Derma cream or Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream or Illiyoon Ceramide intensive cream - Pure mineral sunscreen 4. Slight dryness after application When I move my face, my eye area and cheeks feel a bit tight and dry. This seems like a natural characteristic of vitamin C serums. Personally, I don't mind since it reduces the excess oil on my T-zone that usually bothers me, but I should be careful when going out. 1. Refrigerate the product 2. Layer multiple times on slightly damp skin after cleansing (this balances pH and creates a hydrophilic environment for better absorption) 3. Apply 2-3 layers 4. Wait about 10 minutes, then apply hyaluronic acid serum 5. Wait about 1-2 minutes, then apply moisturizer 6. If using during the day, sunscreen is absolutely essential (this is also mentioned in the product description) *I plan to use this every 2-3 days due to skin sensitivity (for example: Wednesday-Saturday or Monday-Wednesday-Saturday). I've heard that it takes about 30 minutes for products absorbed in the dead skin cell layer to penetrate deeper, so on weekends I might use a humidifier and take my time applying it while watching videos for a more relaxed routine. - yu**********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedSep 28, 2025 (UTC+0)
I've been using this product for about a month now. Since I naturally have darker skin, I didn't actually see any lightening effects. However, while it didn't lighten my skin, I definitely noticed some changes. My complexion became much smoother and gained a healthy glow. Rather than a tone-up effect, it's more like my skin looks brighter and more vibrant. When applying it to your face, there's an intense fishy smell. Ladies, be warned that it tends to stick to your hair quite a bit, so make sure to tie your hair back before application. - jh*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcneAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 4, 2025 (UTC+0)
I tried this because I heard vitamin C is essential for basic skincare. It seems to give a slight yellow tint to the skin. Since it can cause a yellow tint, I recommend using it at night. It's a good idea to experiment with different serums to find what works best for you. The product contains vitamin C, which is known for its brightening and antioxidant properties. While it may leave a slight yellow tint, this is common with some vitamin C products. For those concerned about the tint, using it as part of your evening routine might be preferable. Remember, everyone's skin is different, so it's important to find the right combination of products that work for your unique complexion and skin concerns. - to*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMar 1, 2025 (UTC+0)
It has a high vitamin C content and is surprisingly gentle on the skin despite its potency. There's nothing I dislike about it. It's slightly sticky, but that's typical for high-concentration vitamin products, so I can live with it. - bo********Dry SkinInner DrynessRednessRecommendedJul 5, 2024 (UTC+0)
The fast shipping and sleek packaging really impressed me. Since I only need to apply a small amount each time, I think this product will last quite a while. You might need to put a towel on your pillow to prevent staining, but honestly, that's a minor inconvenience I can live with. - ph****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcneDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedDec 5, 2023 (UTC+0)
As expected with vitamin C, there's an inevitable tingling sensation upon application. But the resulting glow and radiance are absolutely worth it! The tingling sensation is a bit intense for my liking. However, it still works well for my skin type. My only real complaint is that I wish the bottle was bigger!
cu*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 13, 2023 (UTC+0)Honest review from my own purchase★ I bought this hoping a Vitamin C serum might help with my dark spots, freckles, and blemishes. After looking around, I chose the Isntree Vitamin C serum as it was more affordable compared to other brands. Despite no reviews, I decided to give it a try and used it for 6 days. ♣️ Water-like texture with a separate dropper for hygienic use ♣️ Absorbs well without sitting on the skin ♣️ Gives a radiant glow, making skin look luminous My skin immediately looked more radiant and glowy, even with my dark spots and freckles! It absorbs well and has a water-like texture, so it's not thick or sticky. ♣️ Can cause some irritation ♣️ Minimal effect on dark spots, freckles, and blemishes Like most Vitamin C serums, there was a tingling sensation at first. It became less irritating over time, but didn't completely go away. However, it didn't cause any blemishes. The effect on dark spots, freckles, and blemishes seems minimal. Make sure to apply sunscreen diligently!! I also layer it with a retinol ampoule.
