As someone with extremely dry skin and noticeable pores, I found this product to be a great fit. I was particularly pleased with the subtle glow it gave my complexion. Starting with this as my first product from NARS led me to purchase many more base products from the brand. I'm also really enjoying their new primer that came out mid-year. This is ideal for achieving a luminous complexion. However, I wouldn't recommend it if you're not aiming for that glowy look. While I didn't find any specific drawbacks, it's no surprise that NARS products come with a hefty price tag. Still, I keep using it because it's worth every penny, even if it hurts my wallet a bit. - sm******Dry SkinFeb 18, 2017
The texture is a bit bouncy, and if I exaggerate a bit, it feels like applying a watery paste to your face. But after application, it's not sticky at all. While it won't magically brighten your face, it really works hard to set your makeup. Even when I come home in the evening after going out with makeup on, it hasn't budged. Bottom line: if you can't afford your makeup to fall apart on important days, this is the answer. Well... it does hold makeup well, but it can feel a bit heavy. If you apply too many base products and then use this, it might cause pilling. Use this if you're okay with the thought: 'I want my face to look exactly the same from morning to night, just as I applied my makeup, and I'm willing to put up with a slightly heavy feeling.' You don't need to use much, so it lasts a long time. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinSep 15, 2016
It absorbs well and works great as a primer. I love how it keeps my skin moisturized without any pilling. The black tube makes it hard to see how much product is left, so you need to time your repurchases carefully. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 11, 2016
The absorbs well, which is nice. It's not matte at all. If you're looking for coverage, you might want to try a different product. I've used this on and off, and recently after using it for 2-3 days, I developed some blemishes. I remember this happening once before too. I'm not sure if it's because it clogs pores or if it's just my skin, but make sure to cleanse thoroughly after use. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinMay 12, 2016
I often use this instead of sunscreen when going out with a bare face. It covers pores and makes my skin smooth, so I look good even without makeup. When applied under foundation, it helps makeup adhere better, last longer, and gives a subtle glow. It's fantastic! The volume is only 30ml. It's too expensive. Since it's a primer-sunscreen hybrid, it gets used up quickly. I would repurchase if the price were lower. Great as a sunscreen alternative for bare-faced days. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 11, 2016
I usually don't use primer, but I tried this for the first time and my complexion looks so much better! It also works great as a base for powder. The ingredients aren't good, unfortunately. I'll have to look for a different product. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 8, 2016
I had no idea primers could be this amazing! My makeup really adheres well and my skin feels so soft and smooth. It even makes my complexion look better. There's a noticeable difference between when I use it and when I don't - it's truly remarkable! Oh no, the ingredients... I had no intention of repurchasing this product 100%, but after seeing benzophenone listed, I'll have to switch to something else despite how much I loved it. - mi*******Combination SkinMar 23, 2016
As someone with combination skin, I used to struggle with dry patches that made my makeup look patchy and uneven after applying skincare. But using the NARS primer before makeup has been a game-changer! It feels like it balances my skin's oil and moisture, eliminating that dreaded floating makeup effect. However, as time passes, it seems to create an extra layer over my pores, causing excessive shine in the T-zone. I find myself needing to touch up my makeup frequently throughout the day. When the shine starts to appear, I keep oil blotting papers handy. It might also be helpful to set it with some powder to keep the oiliness in check. - al********Combination SkinSensitive SkinMar 15, 2016
First off, this makeup really lasts! I had to wear it overnight for work, and it held up perfectly! I did this three times, and all three times I was satisfied. I apply a small amount on my three fingertips, blend it together, and then spread it from the center of my face outwards. When it comes to makeup longevity, it's truly excellent! Well, the ingredients don't seem particularly great, and for a primer, it doesn't really seem to have much effect on covering pores. The pore-covering aspect is a bit disappointing. I don't use a separate eye primer - I apply this on my eyelids too! It prevents creasing and significantly improves the staying power of eye makeup. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 4, 2016
As someone with dry skin, my makeup would occasionally look patchy, but after using this product, that issue has significantly decreased. Unlike silicone-based primers that made my skin itchy and caused my makeup to pill, this one doesn't have those problems, which I really appreciate. When the bottle is almost empty, it becomes difficult to dispense the product. However, if you cut the container in half, you'll often find there's still quite a bit left inside. For best results, apply a small amount to your face and gently pat it in to absorb. This method prevents pilling.
