I bought this for just 1500 won during a sale at Olive Young! I believe the original price is 3000 won. It has a gel-like texture and provides an instant cooling effect! This is an all-in-one product that hydrates, soothes, and cools your skin. I honestly didn't have high expectations when I bought it on sale and just left it at home. When I finally opened it, I thought, 'Oh, it's a gel-type face mask with lots of essence.' Now I wish I had used it sooner! The soothing effect is amazing, and it's just incredible how it goes from cooling to moisturizing. This is absolutely not an ad, it's a 100% honest review of a product I bought with my own money! I think all Real Barrier products are fantastic! Recently, with the summer heat, my skin's been feeling hot and my pores seem enlarged. So I bought various cooling masks from Olive Young, including the Real Barrier face mask. Not only does it cool down my skin, but it also provides amazing hydration. What's really impressive is how it reduces redness after removing the mask. I'm definitely planning to repurchase! There's not much to complain about, honestly. Just keep in mind that while it's great for soothing, it might not be as effective for severe blemishes or cystic acne. It's perfect for those times when you feel something's about to pop up, or when you notice some small bumps. If your skin is extremely irritated and you need intense soothing, I wouldn't recommend this. For those cases, try Dewytree or Isoi emergency soothing products instead. They work wonders!

As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found the finish too sticky and not great. For those with dry skin, it's so rich that your skincare routine could end with just this lightweight gel cream. The cooling effect is nice! It's great for quickly calming your face after a workout. The finish is too heavy for oily skin types to use. I recommend it for travel when you need to pack light. The mask is incredibly hydrating, so when I used it before makeup, the cooling effect and moisture boost helped my makeup apply beautifully The texture is more like a cream mask than an essence mask, and it's quite runny with a lot of product on the sheet. If you have a strong skin barrier, you might find it hydrating, but for me, it created a film on my skin and caused milia. Sigh... Since this is a cream face mask, I think it might have been too hydrating for me. I've tried three types of Real Barrier products, but this mask is my first time! I'm already a huge fan of the serum from the same line and use it regularly. However, since that one isn't on sale right now and only the Soothing Cream Mask is discounted, I decided to give it a try! First off, the mask material is quite unique! It feels like gauze...? I think they've chosen this texture to prevent the gel cream from dripping, since it's a gel cream mask. I really appreciated that it didn't slide off my face when applied. There were absolutely no issues with the sheet irritating my skin or not adhering well. Since it's a gel cream, it doesn't feel heavy, so I think it would be great for those with oily skin too! I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I like this mask, so I'll probably repurchase it. Oh, and here's a pro tip: if you store it in the fridge before use, it's incredibly soothing for your skin! One downside is that you might be a bit confused when you first open the mask. This is because there's hardly any essence on the sheet itself. Check out my tip below for more info! Here's a trick: After placing the sheet on your face, reach into the face maskaging. You'll find plenty of bouncy gel cream inside! Spread this cream generously over the sheet mask. It's incredibly hydrating and has a rich, gel-like consistency. The moisturizing effect is great, with a cream-like viscosity that lives up to its name. I love the fabric, which feels like a single layer of mesh - it's my preferred material. There's a slight scent that reminds me of a mild medicinal fragrance. It might be a bit polarizing for some people. After applying the mask, if you squeeze the package, you'll find a lot of gel-like essence inside. If you add this on top of the mask sheet, it becomes even more hydrating.
