My body skin has always been extremely dry with keratosis pilaris, requiring year-round care regardless of the season. I switched to Dr. Bronner's for body products, but realized using regular shampoo was counterproductive. I considered using Dr. Bronner's as shampoo, but it caused dandruff. So, I boldly switched to Secret Provence shampoo bar. Living abroad, I easily found it in an organic store. Initially, lathering was tricky, but I quickly got the hang of it. Surprisingly, it lasts longer than expected. Being soap-based, it needs proper drying, but it's harder than regular beauty soap. Post-wash, my hair wasn't as stiff as I feared. While not as silky as with regular shampoo, I find the slight firmness reassuring, knowing it's free from harsh chemicals. After drying, my hair felt fresh and soft without any residue, which was impressive. It rinses out faster than regular shampoo. For reference, my scalp is normal, but I use the sensitive scalp version for its superior ingredients. Lathering is challenging at first, but it improves with a pre-wash routine. When lathering, start from the hair ends and work your way up to the scalp, rather than rubbing directly on the crown. I've been using this for 2 years now after falling in love with it from the first use. Unlike regular shampoos, it doesn't leave any residue and prevents blemishes on the scalp. My scalp feels healthier. When washing, the hair feels a bit stiff like soap, but amazingly, it becomes soft once dry. It's cheaper than Lush shampoo bars and seems better for the environment. While it works well for my scalp, when I recommended it to a friend, they said it actually increased their dandruff. It lathers well, but using a foam net is even better.
