I bought this after a friend recommended it, and I was pleasantly surprised! It's gentle on the skin while still providing effective cleansing. The price is a bit steep, which is probably the main drawback. Other than that, it's great! The product seems to strike a good balance between being mild and having strong cleansing effectiveness. While the cost might be a concern for some, the overall performance appears to satisfy users. - ch*****Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJun 24, 2025
I adore Sulwhasoo's fragrances, and the scent while cleansing is absolutely delightful - it really lifts my mood. The cleanser works effectively and is gentle on my skin, which I'm very pleased with. Admittedly, the price point is a bit steep, which makes me hesitate to purchase it. - qu********Combination SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 17, 2025
As someone with sensitive skin, I found this product very comfortable to use. I've been using it without any itching or irritation. There's not much to complain about. I'm quite satisfied and would recommend it. - ch*************Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsJun 10, 2025
I used this product from the Sulwhasoo set for two weeks. It's gentle enough to use around the eyes without any stinging or irritation, making for a mild cleansing experience. Even with my sensitive and eczema-prone skin, I didn't experience any tightness after washing. The texture is well-balanced - neither too thin nor too heavy. The emulsification speed is... average, I'd say. There's a slight orange-like scent, but it's not overpowering at all. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the price... but given that Sulwhasoo is a luxury brand, it's somewhat expected. However, while I feel their other creams and serums are worth their higher price tags, this cleansing oil... I couldn't find any significant advantages over the numerous cleansing oils available at Olive Young these days. That's why I'm giving it 3 stars. Also, I look for not just cleansing but also sebum removal (blackheads, texture, whiteheads, etc.) in my cleansers, and this one doesn't seem to do much for sebum removal, unfortunately. I'm just saying it doesn't seem worth it to me based on immediate effects... The pricier products probably do have better ingredients, right? - lo**********Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 8, 2025
After trying it, I totally get why everyone raves about this product! It melts away makeup effortlessly during cleansing, making it perfect as a first-step cleanser. My skin feels comfortable and not tight after washing, so I could use it even when my skin was feeling sensitive. It leaves a slightly slippery feeling when rinsing with water, so I had to wash multiple times to get it all off. The cleansing power was a bit lacking for heavy waterproof makeup, so I found using a separate eye makeup remover worked better. Overall, it's a gentle and luxurious cleansing oil that I'd consider repurchasing! - rk******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 15, 2025
The fragrance is very healing, and the emulsification is also quite good. It feels like skin care while cleansing. Indeed, the high price is a drawback. There are no other issues. - db*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 29, 2025
Compared to other cleansing oils, this one definitely removes dead skin cells from your face more gently! Apart from the price being a bit steep, which can be a burden, there are no downsides. - cy**Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 6, 2025
This is a pump-style cleansing oil! It has a very slight viscosity and a translucent texture! I dispensed about a 500 won coin-sized amount onto my hand and rolled it over my skin to remove makeup. I loved that the cleansing oil applied smoothly, allowing for a gentle, irritation-free cleanse. It effectively removed light eye makeup, foundation, and BB cream, which was great. Using the Sulwhasoo cleansing oil left no residue and provided a refreshing cleanse! After cleansing, there was no tightness or redness, and my skin felt softer, not dry but moisturized, which was wonderful! It seemed to cleanse deep into the pores, giving a sense of cleaner pores and helping to remove impurities. As my pores became cleaner, I felt my skin's elasticity gradually improving, which was fantastic~ Sometimes cleansing oils can cause blemishes or skin reactions if they don't suit your skin, but I was pleased that this cleanser didn't cause any such issues. What I appreciated most was that it didn't sting my eyes during use. When I noticed blackheads or whiteheads on my skin, using this Gentle Cleansing Oil seemed to gradually improve the situation, which was great! I didn't find any downsides while using the Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil! Make sure to wash your hands before cleansing and use the product on dry skin~ Don't forget the emulsification step at the end - wet your hands and massage to remove the makeup! For heavy eye makeup or long-lasting lip tints, use a separate makeup remover first. - rl********Dry SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJan 21, 2025
Great cleansing effectiveness without drying out the skin. True to its name, it's gentle on the skin. The price is a bit disappointing. Other than that, there's nothing to complain about. - tp*******Dry SkinRecommendedJan 15, 2025
I had no idea how amazing this product was when I first started using cleansing oils! It wasn't until I tried cheaper alternatives from Olive Young and Coupang that I truly appreciated its value. The key to a great cleansing oil is its ability to remove mascara, and this one effortlessly dissolves even Etude's Curl Fix. It's such a game-changer! The price point is quite steep, hovering in the 30,000 won range. If it were priced in the low 20,000 won range, I'd definitely purchase and use it regularly.
