After using it for about 3-4 months, I noticed my hair gradually becoming thicker. The dropper makes it inconvenient to use. It's not as light as regular tonic products. I recommend mixing it with other products in brown bottles. It improves the feel and the spray bottle makes it much easier to use. Although it doesn't contain peptides, I mixed it with an affordable product that has a nice texture. - my*****Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedApr 6, 2024
It's gentle and has a subtle scent. The packaging is quite sophisticated. The consistency is so thin that it sometimes drips from the dropper. When applied to the scalp, it can make hair a bit greasy, so I only use it at night or when staying in. - oj******Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 26, 2024
I bought this after hearing it's good for scalp health. I've used scalp essences before, but found dropper formats inconvenient. I used to transfer them to empty bottles, roll-ons, or sprays. This time, I've found the perfect combo! I got an empty eye drop bottle from Daiso and use it to apply the product drop by drop directly onto my scalp. It applies well and feels great, so I'll likely keep using it regularly. I haven't found any downsides yet, so I'll need to use it more before I can comment on any drawbacks. Make sure to try using it with a drop bottle! Highly recommended! - al********Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 12, 2023
My scalp is oily, but sometimes feels tight when the air conditioning is on. I figured hydration was the answer, so I searched and bought this. When my scalp feels tight, applying this brings relief! The texture is completely watery, so it runs down quite a bit. This could actually be an advantage, as a sticky product would feel different after use. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 8, 2023
I have oily hair that gets greasy if I skip washing for just one day, but I loved how incredibly lightweight this hair essence feels. Despite its light texture, it seems to strengthen the hair roots a bit. However, you'll start seeing results around the time you finish a whole bottle. I personally think this might be because it contains gentle ingredients that work slowly but healthily to show effects. The water-like consistency means it runs down the scalp when applied with the dropper, which I didn't particularly enjoy. Also, the twist-open cap sometimes causes wrist pain. After washing your hair, apply a small amount to your scalp while it's still damp and massage it in. Make sure to blow-dry your hair thoroughly afterwards, otherwise it might get greasy the next day. - hi*****Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 18, 2023
I love the coffee scent. It seems to have made my scalp a bit healthier. I often forget to apply it before bed, so there are times I can't use it. If you apply too much, your hair gets wet and you have to dry it before sleeping. - af*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 18, 2021
This product comes in a UV-protected glass dropper bottle. The serum has a watery, runny consistency, so you need to work quickly to massage it into your scalp before it drips away. It's incredibly lightweight, and despite feeling like a watery oil, it leaves no oily residue. The serum absorbs well into the scalp without making your hair feel stiff, crunchy, or greasy. You can style your hair as usual after application. I noticed significant new hair growth while using this product, and it seemed to strengthen my hair, reducing fallout during the period I used it. The price point is quite high, and each bottle gets used up quickly. Since The Ordinary doesn't offer sales, it's challenging to keep up with monthly repurchases. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 4, 2021
I can't really tell yet. It made my hair greasy and flat. I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly. - jj*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 22, 2021
I tried The Ordinary hair products for the first time, and I'm impressed! The best part is that there's no irritation or itching after use, which is fantastic. I'm quite particular about both hair and scalp care, so I wasn't sure which products would be good for nourishing the scalp. After using this, I don't think I need to look for anything else. The texture is non-sticky and feels like water, making it easy to manage with just one application before bed each night. There's hardly any scent, so it should appeal to everyone. As for drawbacks, the ingredients list is slightly disappointing. While I haven't experienced any major irritation or blemishes yet, it's not perfect. Still, it's good enough that I'll probably continue using it. I think using this along with a scalp-specific shampoo could enhance the effects even more. - ru******Combination SkinRecommendedJul 23, 2020
My scalp condition => I have a sensitive scalp prone to overheating, with severe dryness leading to blemishes, itching, redness, and weakening hair roots and strands. At first, I thought I was just experiencing hair loss, so I tried almost every tonic on the market that claimed to help with hair loss. (Many over-the-counter products contain ingredients like ethanol that cause moisture evaporation. They feel good momentarily because they make your hair light and cool, but the moisture loss actually makes your scalp itchier and weaker, leading to more hair loss.) Once I realized my symptoms were due to a dry scalp, I started looking for products focused on hydration and soothing. That's when I found The Ordinary's Hair Serum. I was initially drawn to it because it has many ingredients beneficial for dry skin, and the price wasn't too steep, so I decided to give it a try. Honestly, within a week, the itching on my scalp disappeared completely. Now, after exactly 3 months, even the redness on my scalp has subsided. I plan to keep using this product exclusively. The dropper application has its pros and cons. Pro: It's easy to apply. Con: The dropper doesn't reach the bottom of the bottle, making it inconvenient to use when there's not much product left. Also, this product is more suitable for dry scalps than oily ones, so it might feel a bit heavy for some. (Personally, I didn't find it excessively heavy.) For best results, apply it evenly and massage it into damp hair before drying. This method works much better and prevents clumping.
