Nov 19, 2023 Decent cleansing effectiveness and lather. The scent is refreshingly cool. The quantity is a bit disappointing for the price, especially when compared to other products on the market. - da*******Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedMar 22, 2021
I found this really helpful during winter when my scalp was so dry it was flaking. The pump is nice and big, so it's easy to use even without looking. While it's great for dry skin, it tends to get a bit thick and heavy during the summer months. - ok********Dry SkinEnlarged PoresNov 20, 2019
I didn't see any major effects, but I also didn't experience any significant blemishes. The scent was to my liking, and the texture felt gentle and lightweight. I noticed the lather disappeared quickly, but the cleansing effectiveness didn't seem compromised. I've been alternating between this, Aromatica, and A24 shampoos, and this one performed adequately without any standout features. It leaves the hair feeling somewhat soft even when used alone without conditioner. The lather feels silky smooth, but I still recommend using conditioner afterward. While I typically get scalp issues every couple of months, I didn't experience any irritation while using this product. I'm disappointed with the ingredient list. It makes me uneasy to use products like this now. There's no compelling reason to choose this product over others. - ap****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedOct 30, 2019
I bought this product in a rush, looking for a coconut-based cleanser. Only after finishing it did I realize it was for dry hair types. Two of us with neutral scalps and very slightly oily tendencies used it. The scalp feel was decent, and it was effective in calming the seasonal dandruff that appears on our bangs during weather changes. We both have color-treated hair and didn't experience significant damage, but we alternated between using this Innisfree Calming shampoo for two days and then Kiehl's Amino Acid shampoo once. Compared to before, there was less static electricity. After washing, there's a sort of chalky feeling. Since we don't typically use conditioner or treatments, I think this is a fairly objective review. The scent was pleasant, reminiscent of fresh wood. I went back to buy it again but... it was out of stock, so I got the regular Moisture version instead. Not sure how that will compare. I was considering continued use because of the nice fragrance, but there seem to be more downsides than I expected. It's disappointing that I can't even find it to try another bottle. If you have color-treated hair, make sure to care for it separately. I alternated this with an amino acid shampoo. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMar 18, 2018
Let's start with the positives - the scent was refreshing, reminiscent of lemon or mint. It had a zesty, invigorating aroma! Unfortunately, it didn't seem to significantly reduce dandruff. The shampoo felt thinner compared to regular ones, and it didn't produce that rich, luxurious lather we all love. - 36*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessFeb 13, 2018
After washing my hair, it feels incredibly refreshing, like every nook and cranny has been cleansed. The formula is quite thin, with a cool, woodsy scent that's reminiscent of nature. I bought it because it's supposed to be good for dry scalps and dandruff, and it turned out to be a pretty decent shampoo. The pump dispenses easily, and thanks to the thin consistency, it lathers well and reaches all areas of the scalp. Unfortunately, it contains sodium laureth sulfate, PEG, phenoxyethanol, and fragrance. Contrary to the brand's image, it seems to include many of the potentially harmful ingredients commonly found in shampoos... The My Hair Recipe shampoo bottle can be recycled through the brand's empty container collection program! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 31, 2018
The only positive thing is that I bought it cheaply during a sale. I trusted it when I saw it was labeled for dry scalp, categorized by scalp type... but I fell for it. First off, it causes blemishes! I bought it cheaply to use as a primary shampoo, but it's way too rich. I have a dry scalp that can go about 3 days without washing without major issues, but this is definitely not suitable for dry scalps. It doesn't moisturize or suit dry scalps at all. I didn't expect much, but I'm still disappointed. It's not just a waste of product, but the hassle of throwing it away is annoying too. Seems like we should only buy shampoos from specialized shampoo companies. It's clear this was made by someone who doesn't understand dry scalps at all. The worst of the worst I've ever tried. The pro tip is to not buy it no matter how much it's discounted. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinJan 19, 2018
Recommended for those with white, flaky dandruff or painful scalp acne spots. As someone with partial dandruff issues, I used to blindly buy anti-dandruff shampoos. However, most products marketed for dandruff care or scalp cleansing (while effective for oily, flaky scalps) often had such strong cleansing power that they dried out my scalp and worsened my dandruff. This product doesn't offer dramatic results, but it doesn't aggravate the condition either. A notable advantage is that it's significantly less irritating on scalp acne or sore spots when shampooing. Compared to similar lines from brands like Innisfree, it feels less harsh on the skin. The product doesn't live up to its advertised effectiveness. It seems the formula needs some improvement to meet expectations. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 20, 2017
As it's a product for dry hair, it really made my locks incredibly hydrated! Despite the hydration, it unfortunately caused a dandruff explosion... Those who don't struggle with dead skin cells on their scalp might find this product more suitable. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 14, 2017
After using up a whole bottle, I noticed my hair became more moisturized. When I actually touched my hair, it felt incredibly hydrated, as if it was holding onto moisture. The shampoo has a unique scent that might be hit or miss for some people, but it has a distinctive smell reminiscent of herbs, natural ingredients, or wood due to its many botanical components. I didn't find it unpleasant. Unfortunately, it didn't have a dramatic effect on my scalp, which was quite disappointing. I had hoped it would work as well for my scalp as it did for my hair. It wasn't particularly effective in addressing dryness and dead skin cells. This might be due to the winter season. The formula flows easily, so it might be best to apply it in two separate applications.
