I'm thrilled to have found this marula oil at such a great price, especially considering how expensive it usually is. The hydrating power is impressive too! After using a high-end marula oil and comparing it to this one, I noticed this feels a bit more oily and seems to absorb slightly slower. - yu******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 29, 2022
Even though I'm prone to blemishes from mild oils, this product didn't cause any issues. It seems gentle and provides great hydration. There's a slight seed-like scent. It's faint and not noticeable when applied, but those unfamiliar with seed scents might find it unusual. I mix it with products like Haru toner and also use it for massages. - rl**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedNov 29, 2021
I was curious why there weren't any real reviews... My skin type: Extremely sensitive skin with redness due to steroid side effects (the adverse reactions have subsided, but my skin remains ultra-sensitive), and extremely dry. I really struggled for two years, visiting dermatologists, taking skin medication, and gaining weight due to steroid side effects. After two years of Western medicine with no improvement, I switched to herbal medicine. During this treatment, a friend introduced me to NSK cosmetics, which greatly improved my skin (not an ad, the herbal medicine was likely effective). I used NSK marula oil as the last step in my skincare routine and when applying makeup, and it suited my skin perfectly. When it was discontinued, I tried jojoba oil while searching for another face oil, but it was too light and drying. While looking for marula oil again, I discovered The Ordinary's marula oil. Being super sensitive, I applied it with some concern, and at first, I was unsure. But now, I'm using it with great satisfaction. NSK was too expensive, but The Ordinary's marula oil is reasonably priced. It's moisturizing, and since I love a dewy look, it allows for a slightly glossy makeup finish. It's a slightly heavier oil, so I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin types. However, it's great for very dry skin like mine. When I apply the oil at night and wake up in the morning, there's little dryness, which is wonderful. I'm so happy to have found my holy grail product! The downside is that the twisting part for opening and closing doesn't have many rotations, which feels a bit inconvenient. The twisting area isn't very wide, and there are vertical lines on the outer part for grip, which can hurt your hand when opening. It would be great if there was a larger size available! - gj*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 26, 2020
Why are there no reviews? I bought this after researching online and hearing that marula oil is great. Among all the rosehip, camellia, jojoba, and argan oils I've tried, this is the most hydrating! It's perfect for the cold winter months. I always mix oils with my moisturizer year-round - jojoba and rosehip in spring and fall, camellia in summer, and argan in winter. But this is even more hydrating than argan! Adding a drop or two to my moisturizer as the final step leaves my skin incredibly moisturized and plump! It's also fantastic mixed into body lotion. The Ordinary's oils are great value compared to other brands. The 30ml size lasts a long time, and what's even better is that it's from a cruelty-free brand, which I really appreciate! There's nothing bad to say! I'm at a loss for what to write here... Here's a pro tip: mix a drop or two into your moisturizer as the final step in your routine for best results!
