Instead of applying it directly, I lather it up on my thigh or another area before using it on my face.

I felt a slight burning sensation, as if the cleansing effectiveness was too strong. It was a bit overwhelming, so I'd like to switch to a gentler product if possible.

I can't speak for other products, but this one left me feeling clean and fresh without any irritation or itchiness.
