This foundation has a creamy texture. You can apply it all over your face with a damp Olive Young sponge using just a small amount. Since it's a matte foundation, many people worry it might be too thick or drying, but it's actually lighter than Etude's Double Lasting foundation. I applied Innisfree Blueberry Skin, Mamonde Cream, and Etude Hydra Mebe, and didn't feel any dryness for 11 hours straight. Even though I have oily skin, I think those with dry skin could use this comfortably with a solid skincare routine. The coverage is good enough that you might not need concealer, though it's not quite concealer-level. As for longevity? It simply doesn't budge. An added bonus is the packaging, which I love, and the ingredients are the best I've seen in any foundation I know. Being a foreign brand, there are about 30 shades available at Sephora! The scent is slightly disappointing. It's not a bad smell, but it's not particularly pleasant either. Fortunately, it disappears quickly after application. Also, there's a tiny bit of darkening, maybe 0.2 or 0.3 shades, but it's hardly noticeable. Apply with a damp sponge for a thin layer. Don't even bother with a brush. This is one of my absolute favorite foundations! Not only does it have amazing staying power, but I think its coverage is the best among all the foundations I've ever used. I'm seriously impressed! The texture is a bit thick when you apply it, so I wouldn't really recommend it for those with very dry skin. I guess this thick consistency is probably what gives it such great coverage though. - vi*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 31, 2017
Among all the foundations I've tried, this one has the best staying power. Even without touch-ups for hours, it beautifully blends with your skin's natural oils, making your complexion look flawless. I have super sensitive skin prone to blemishes, but this doesn't cause any issues. A little goes a long way with great coverage, so it lasts forever. It's a shame that while Kat Von D is really famous in the US, it's not as well-known in Korea. Personally, I don't have any complaints. Considering how long it lasts, the price is reasonable. It doesn't cause any blemishes, and it's just great overall. Only available for purchase at Sephora, an international cosmetics retailer. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinNov 23, 2016
Better than Double Wear. It has good coverage and less emphasis on dead skin cells. No darkening, matte finish with high longevity. The adherence is also remarkable. Cleansing seems easier than with Double Wear. The pump dispenser makes it easy to control the amount, and on cheeks without flakiness, it creates a satisfying skin appearance (a natural glow despite being matte). The ingredients are better compared to average foundations. Wide range of shades available. While it's less prone to emphasizing dead skin cells than Double Wear, it still significantly accentuates flakiness on my forehead, which is prone to extreme dryness. It was manageable in summer, but it's too much for winter use. If I wear this to school in the afternoon and then work until night, I wake up the next morning with blemishes. However, compared to other products, the reaction is milder. I tend to break out regardless of what I use. The worst part is the smell. It's the scent you sometimes get from fragrance-free cosmetics - charitably described as cinnamon-like, less charitably as phlegm-like. It smells similar to Wet n Wild lipsticks. It seems to thicken over time. It's crucial not to lose the stopper inserted in the pump nozzle when you first buy it, as it helps minimize air exposure. However, even with this precaution, it gradually thickens. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 13, 2016
Move over Estée Lauder, this foundation's coverage is top-notch! As someone who prefers a matte finish, I absolutely loved it. Keep in mind that if you're going for high coverage, you'll need to expect a somewhat thicker application. - hy*********Oily SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinOct 11, 2016
As someone with extremely oily skin, I absolutely love the matte finish. The coverage is fantastic, and I think it's even better than Double Wear. It can be a bit too matte at times, making application tricky. However, if you ensure your skin is well-hydrated before applying, it works just fine. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 28, 2016
I bet a lot of people don't know about this... but it's seriously amazing. It's the best foundation I've ever used in my life when it comes to coverage! Double Wear doesn't even come close... If you apply it thinly, it won't look cakey. The formula is quite rich, but it absorbs beautifully, adheres perfectly to the skin, and lasts all day. There's nothing to complain about. The only slight downside is that you have to buy it from overseas. But it's honestly worth every penny, even if it's a bit pricey. If you're shade 21, go for 44, and if you're 23, the natural 44 should work well! There's nothing to be disappointed about... If I had to pick one thing, it would be that you have to purchase it from overseas It works best when applied with a damp sponge - 24*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessAug 19, 2016
This foundation has gentler ingredients than Double Wear (which wreaked havoc on my sensitive skin, while this one is less irritating), better coverage (though it won't completely hide tattoos as advertised, it does reduce the need for concealer), and longer-lasting wear (maybe not the full 24 hours claimed, but impressive nonetheless). The beige tone, rather than yellow, blends seamlessly with my neck. Notably, it doesn't dry out my skin (unlike Double Wear, which left my face feeling tight and parched underneath while looking oily on top). Even when it does start to fade, it does so more gracefully than Double Wear. There's a reason this is a hot bestseller at Sephora right now. Many beauty bloggers are switching from Double Wear to Cat Von D, comparing the two, and we're eagerly anticipating its launch in Korea. I used shade 52, which is similar to Double Wear's Rattan - a medium tone. It's darker than Double Wear's Sand. I'll definitely repurchase this. The cream formula is a bit heavy, so it doesn't apply as thinly as Double Wear. Perhaps due to the texture, it tends to emphasize under-eye wrinkles as time passes. The case is unnecessarily large. The button-like cap is truly baffling. While it seems designed to keep air out, it actually digs into the foundation, making things messier. It's best to skip primer with this foundation. Ironically, using a primer seems to make pores more noticeable and the overall look messier as it wears off. Without primer, it seems to cover pores better. For powder, just use a small amount on the T-zone. When oil starts to come through later, blotting with oil-absorbing sheets works better than touch-ups. That's how long-lasting it is. When applying with a brush, don't spread it too thinly. Load up the brush well for better application, or you'll see brush strokes. I haven't tried the beauty blender yet, but I think it might work well with this foundation.
