      First off, this product delivers amazing color payoff with just a tiny amount! The application is smooth for me, so I use it everywhere - as a lip color and as a blush. That said, compared to other shades in the same line, this vivid red has such a bold, punchy tone that I mainly use it as a lip product. When I apply it to my cheeks, it comes out more as a purple-red rather than pure red, which is pretty, but it's honestly too intense for an everyday neutral look. This is my go-to when I want to add some serious color to my cheeks! With just a tiny amount, it finishes with that gorgeous red glow. Also, I usually can't wear matte lipsticks, but this one applies so smoothly and has that soft, powdery finish that looks like a matte lip. The only downside is that my lips feel a bit dry, so I need to apply a lip balm first before using it. The compact size is amazing - it takes up barely any space in my pouch or bag. When I use it as a lip product, it's honestly not that different from that famous red lip from MAC. Personally, I think they're pretty similar!
      To be honest, there are more downsides than I'd like. First, it's inconvenient. Since it comes in a tube, it's fine when I have time to look in a mirror and apply it carefully, but when I'm in a rush and need to apply it quickly, it requires a lot of precision and that's tricky. The amount control is frustrating too - when I squeeze it onto the back of my hand, there's always leftover product. The opening is wide, so even when I try to squeeze out a small amount, too much comes out. Since such a tiny amount gives great color, I always end up with excess. When I dip directly into the opening, it feels messy and uncomfortable. I wish the opening was narrower like a typical ointment tube instead of this paint-like design. Plus, the opening gets exposed easily - I just had the cap closed and it was in my pocket for a bit, but when I opened it later, it was covered in product like in the photo. Even the slightest pressure requires careful handling. The staying power on the lips isn't great either, but it does stay well on the cheeks! Honestly, this whole product line seems designed more for cheek use than lip use. I personally have six shades from this line, including the new Berry Balm colors, but I use the vivid red the least. It's because this shade is pretty common as a red, and the other colors are prettier, so I end up reaching for those instead. Plus, the color payoff is so strong that it's hard to use casually. The color intensity is seriously top-notch though!
      Using a makeup sponge to dab it on instead of your fingers works great for blush application and prevents harsh lines. Also, applying a small amount of lip balm first makes the application much smoother.
