This foundation works beautifully with my skin, and when I use the brush, it applies so smoothly and evenly. I barely experience any tugging or clumping at all. My skin type is quite oily! Blending: 4 out of 5 stars There was barely any patchiness! Since it sets quickly, applying and tapping all at once left slight marks, but when I applied one side, tapped it, then did the other side, there were no marks at all! Coverage: 5 out of 5 stars I have some redness, and this covered it completely. While it couldn't hide really large blemishes, it definitely concealed pigmentation spots and dark circles! I even used concealer on top for my dark circles since they're pretty severe. Longevity: 7 out of 5 stars Darkening: 7 out of 5 stars I really pay attention to how long makeup lasts and how much it darkens, and both were absolutely amazing! I have PE class and sweat a lot, plus I'm on a sports team so we practice during lunch breaks. The gym doesn't even have air conditioning, so I was sweating buckets! My skin usually gets really red when I sweat, but that barely happened. It just looked like I applied a bit more blush, honestly! And even though I was sweating that much, the makeup barely faded at all. Now, if I said there was zero patchiness, that would be a lie. There was a tiny bit of patchiness around my nose area. Since it sets so quickly, beginners might find it a bit tricky to use! If you want to try it, I'd recommend getting the cushion version instead. The About Tone powder is seriously incredible! Attention: This review is from someone with oily skin, especially in the T-zone during summer! I usually wear shade 19 and also use shade 17 regularly. Shade: I've noticed that most other shade 17 cushions and foundations tend to look yellowish, but this one doesn't have that issue at all! Among the shade 17 options available, this one actually has quite a bit of pink undertone. If you have rosacea-prone skin, definitely keep that in mind! Finish: It's more of a semi-matte than a full matte finish! It applies lighter compared to other foundations, and I didn't notice particularly strong coverage. Wear time: After applying, I went about my day for 5-6 hours without touching it up, and I have to say it broke down beautifully compared to other cushions and foundations I've tried! With products that don't work well for me, I usually see the under-nose area get patchy, the nose area gets flaky, and my skin tone looks dull and uneven. But with this foundation, none of that happened—it just faded gracefully. It does need a bit of blending control. If you're not careful, it can get cakey around the nose area or look dry.

I wanted something that prioritizes a natural finish over full coverage, so I decided to give this a try. I usually go for bright shade 21 or 20, but I noticed the foundation is darker than the cushion version, so honestly, even if you pick a lighter shade, it should work fine. The coverage is decent for redness, though I wouldn't call it heavy. But here's the best part, it feels incredibly light. Even after wearing it all day, I'm honestly not uncomfortable at all, and it holds up beautifully. The staying power depends on how you prep your skin, but it's a bit on the lighter side. When it starts to fade, I just tap it back with the cushion. If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, this is definitely worth trying. It keeps your complexion looking clear without any irritation. With a solid skincare routine, it won't feel dry at all. I highly recommend it for oily skin too. The photo below shows my skin twelve hours after application. The application can be a bit tricky, and it tends to rub off easily if it even slightly touches your skin, which is the main downside. Here's a pro tip: instead of rubbing the product in, apply a small amount directly to your skin and gently press it in with your fingertips. If you rub it, it will come off. This foundation has a nice moisturizing feel to it. I did notice some darkening on my skin, though it works well for my usual shade 13 (I have combination skin). The coverage is really impressive! It's not ideal if you're going for a sheer, lightweight base, but it's perfect when you need serious coverage and want your makeup to stay put all day. I love how compact it is—it fits right in the palm of my hand and slides into my makeup bag so easily! Personally, I found it a bit too dark for my skin tone. This is my go-to foundation right now. From its staying power to how beautifully it blurs pores, it really checks all the boxes for what I need. The shade matches my cushion foundation perfectly, but this one feels a bit more matte and has that lovely, bouncy texture I love. Shade 1.5 is a touch too neutral for me, while shade 1 runs a bit too light, so I've been mixing them together to get my perfect match.
