I never get tired of the lavender scent! The lather is fantastic and the cleansing power is really impressive! There's really nothing to complain about! It's unusual to find a shampoo with no downsides, right? I don't stick to just one shampoo. Instead, I switch between different ones depending on my scalp condition that day or what scent I'm in the mood for. It works so much better than using the same shampoo all the time! I've been using this for over 3 months now, and since my scalp itching was really intense and got worse before my period, I decided to give it a proper 3-month trial. My skin type is dry. I generally have healthy skin with minimal breakouts, but my scalp is the tricky part—it gets itchier and less itchy depending on my cycle, and that's just how it is for me. I've tried switching between high-lather and low-lather shampoos constantly, but I've finally settled on Aesop. The scalp itching is almost completely gone, and I only get a little itchy occasionally during my period. And honestly, even now as we're heading into the dry fall season, it's still holding up well. After shampooing, I really do need to use a conditioner from a different brand. Make sure to rinse your scalp thoroughly, and apply your regular conditioner just to the ends of your hair with a light touch. I really loved how this functional shampoo creates such a rich, luxurious lather. I'd recommend this to anyone with oily or combination skin, especially teenagers dealing with excess oil. This shampoo really strips away scalp oil effectively. If you're a young person struggling with scalp issues caused by oiliness, this is definitely for you. Your hair stays oil-free right through the evening. Even though I have oily skin, using this daily made my hair feel quite dry. After about three months of use, the oil did reduce significantly, so I ended up alternating it with a regular shampoo. The price is pretty steep, to be honest. If you're not someone who's really stressed about oily hair, it might feel overpriced. I wouldn't recommend this for dry hair at all. Especially when you rinse it out, your hair feels really stiff and rough. Aesop makes a conditioner too, and personally I'd suggest using their shampoo paired with a more nourishing conditioner or rinse from another brand. After about six months of use, I noticed the oil reduced quite a bit, but my hair started feeling a little dry, so I'd cautiously recommend alternating it with a regular shampoo. If you're worried about oily hair and scalp odor, try combining this shampoo with Ivrosse hair vinegar and a scalp toner. Even by evening, I notice a subtle herbal scent coming from my roots instead of that greasy smell. It looks beautiful sitting on my bathroom shelf and smells amazing. The lather is fantastic and it cleanses really well. I've tried pretty much every Aesop shampoo line out there, and no matter what, my hair always feels stiff and dry after washing. It's just something you have to accept with this brand. This shampoo really delivers on every front - cleansing power, fragrance, and hair quality. I absolutely loved it! If you're torn between Aesop shampoo and an equalizing shampoo and you have oily scalp, I'd hands down recommend the equalizing option!!! The hair does feel soft, but because the cleansing is quite strong, your strands might feel a little stiff, so I'd suggest using it with a conditioner. The scent is pretty intense, so it might not be for everyone - but it's a lovely fragrance, so I'd recommend testing it in-store before buying. As someone who loves a strong scent, I was really happy with it!

I didn't experience any discomfort, and I really noticed how effective the cleansing power is. When you think Aesop, you think of that signature scent—it's so soothing and therapeutic. The strong cleansing power is actually a drawback when you think about it. The price-to-value ratio is pretty disappointing, honestly. It feels like they're trying to make up for it with the beautiful packaging and aesthetic appeal. You should definitely give it a try if you have oily skin—I'd highly recommend it for that. What I do is use a more affordable cleanser first to remove excess oil, then follow up with this as my main shampoo. It's pricey, but it's worth the investment.
