I've tried so many organic natural brand shampoos - Chungmi Jung, Hwamisa, Nature Velour, Chorok Maeul, Logo, Tone28, Acure, and countless others. Of course, I've also used plenty of salon shampoos like Kerastase, Wella SP, and L'Oreal. I've explored drugstore options too, and tried ingredient-focused brands like Aromatica, Isol, Isoi, and Doctor brands. I even used Rausch back in the day when people mistakenly thought it had great ingredients. I'm basically a shampoo enthusiast who's tried almost everything. But honestly, I've never been as satisfied with any product as I am with this one. If you have dry, flaky scalp, you absolutely need to buy this. This is the perfect shampoo for dry, flaky scalp. When you search for scalp flake shampoos, you only get oily formulas that either over-dry your hair or are loaded with polyquaternium and silicone. On the flip side, dry shampoos often have excessive oils or film-forming ingredients that kill volume, fail to manage flakes, or cause oil allergies. Plus, both oily and dry formulas have harmful ingredient issues. I was so frustrated, but this product is genuinely made for dry scalp - it's rare and truly wonderful. The ingredients are satisfying, it makes hair incredibly soft, doesn't kill volume, and causes no allergic reactions. Dry scalp with some flake concerns? Buy it without hesitation. Not dry but normal scalp, but winter dryness is bothering you? Get it. (Dry scalp flake shampoos are already uncommon in the market, and products with this quality of ingredients are even rarer. Definitely buy it.) Using only this continuously and noticing your hair getting oilier, or you have normal-to-combination or oily-prone scalp? Search this brand - they also have a red bottle shampoo called Hair Loss Relief Shampoo. Pump each one separately and mix them together. Truly oily scalp without combination or oily-prone issues but worried about flakes? Go for the red bottle. I've tested both the yellow and red bottles and reached this conclusion. Both products contain fermented ingredients and salicylic acid, and the combination works beautifully. The red bottle naturally has it, and the yellow dry-scalp bottle also includes gentle exfoliating ingredients, which is great.
I don't understand why the brand is discontinuing this yellow shampoo. They have another dry shampoo called Shocking Enzyme Shampoo, so I thought the concept overlapped, but the brand itself said this product has better quality than that one. So why discontinue it? People mainly search for oily flake shampoos, and dry flake demand is lower, so I understand, but there are picky combination-scalp people like me who can't manage flakes with dry formulas and can't use oily ones because they're too drying. Please just keep it around. When the stock runs out, I'll mix the Shocking Enzyme Shampoo with the red bottle, but this foam formula is so much more convenient than Shocking, and since it contains salicylic acid, it works so much better. Update: It got discontinued, so I bought Shocking Enzyme Shampoo. Since it has almost the same ingredients, I'm using it well. I pump the red bottle Hair Loss Relief Shampoo each time I pump Shocking Enzyme and mix them - it's moisturizing while still removing flakes effectively. I do my first wash with just Shocking, then for the second wash I pump both shampoos separately and mix them. (In fall right now, I pump at a 1:4 ratio of Shocking to Hair Loss Relief. As winter approaches, I increase the Shocking ratio more since it's the dry formula.) Adjust the ratio that works for your scalp type based on your oil and flake levels. People with severe dryness like me but without flake concerns could probably just use Shocking alone for both washes. True oily scalp types could use Hair Loss Relief for both washes. Later if it feels dry, you can buy Shocking and mix it in. Shocking Shampoo comes in liquid form, not foam. I solved that by pouring it into the empty red bottle and pumping it - it comes out as foam perfectly. Or you can buy a foam dispenser from a dollar store. But from experience, the Hair Loss Relief bottle has better pump performance than dollar store bottles, so I intentionally use that one. (Always shake before pumping. Shake before transferring to the foam dispenser too.)
Always shake these brand shampoos before use - this is very important! And it's great to pump each one separately and mix them. You might think why not mix them together in the bottle from the start, but then you can't finely control the ratio between the two shampoos on days with heavy flakes or across seasons. Plus, since the two shampoos have different ingredients, I worry about potential chemical reactions if mixed long-term and possible skin reactions. That's why I think it's better to pump each separately and mix when using. Once you try it, pumping both isn't inconvenient at all - it just takes a bit longer since you need to shake each one first. But since this product has no harsh emulsifiers, shaking is necessary, and thanks to that your scalp stays in optimal condition. That level of effort is worth it. Out of everything I've tried so far, this and the red bottle shampoo are my absolute favorites.
