This stick lip mask was supposed to plump lips quickly, so I had high hopes when I bought it, but honestly it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It's not as smooth to apply as a regular stick lip balm, but when I applied a generous amount to really get that lip mask effect and finished my makeup, I could see my lips were slightly flaky. I pressed a toner pad on them and wiped, and the flakiness came off pretty well. I usually go for hydrating lip products, but I could actually see some exfoliation happening, so it's been great to use when I'm in a pinch. The application isn't great. I thought it would be smooth, but it felt a bit rough. When you have a lot of flakiness or thick buildup, it doesn't work as well as a jar-type lip mask. It only removes the surface flakes, so it bothers me all day long. Honestly, it's better to just remember to apply a regular lip mask at night. This is hands down the best lip balm I've tried for treating dry, flaky lips. I've dealt with chapped lips for over 30 years, but the very first time I used this lip mask, the flaking cleared up immediately and my lips felt incredibly soft and smooth. It works wonders when your lips are severely parched and dehydrated. I actually switched to other products for a while, but I came right back because nothing compares to how well this works. If you find that the lip mask leaves a white cast on your lips, try using a lip balm instead. The lip mask is specifically designed for exfoliating and treating flaky skin. If you don't have any dry patches, it's perfectly fine to use it as a lip treatment for going out (great moisturizing power). I wanted to mention this because I noticed some reviews saying the white cast is a downside, and I think that's a shame. Apply a generous amount of lip mask and wear a lip patch over it. I'm on my fourth lip balm from this brand and I keep coming back because it works so well for me. The lip mask product is decent too. It has a slightly slick feeling on the lips and tends to clump up. When a bit gets in my mouth, the taste is really off-putting. For the price point, I'm a bit disappointed with how it performs.
