    This soothing essence mist is my go-to whenever I feel like breakouts might be coming on. I love that it's not sticky at all, and the scent is barely noticeable.
    The main drawbacks are that it's easy to use too much product, and the bottle doesn't dispense a controlled amount. Honestly, I didn't see much of a calming effect either.

    I'm a loyal fan of Skinceuticals because this brand creates products where you can really feel the results working. I actually get their products from my dermatologist's office, and my doctor even mentioned that she regularly uses their Ferulic Serum herself, which says a lot! The Phyto Corrective line has this gentle, plant-based vibe to it - it's soothing and hydrating without being too intense. Honestly, I usually prefer serums with more powerful antioxidant ingredients, so I hadn't tried the Phyto Corrective serum before. But when I heard they released it as a mist, I got curious and wanted to give it a shot. Since I was working with a sample in a smaller container, I have to mention that the spray mechanism probably works differently than the full-size version. I couldn't really use it as a fine mist spray, so I applied a small amount to my cheeks and forehead and gently patted it in like I would an essence. The scent is really nice - it's not your typical fragrance, but more of a subtle herbal note with a hint of bitterness. I actually love this because I'm not a fan of heavy perfumes, so this felt refreshing to me. Since it's formulated as a mist, the texture is beautifully lightweight and watery, but don't let that fool you - the hydration level is seriously impressive. The moment it touches your skin, that tight, parched feeling just melts away. You might notice a slight tackiness on the surface for a moment, but it absorbs quickly and sinks right in. I totally get why people call this a moisture-locking essence. I recently had a Thermage treatment done, so my skin was feeling a bit warm and dehydrated. I wanted to be extra gentle and avoid anything with vitamin or acid ingredients that might irritate things further. So I just spritzed this once and finished with a hydrating gel cream - and wow, it was exactly what my skin needed! There's no irritation at all, just pure hydration and a calming sensation. I loved it so much that I immediately popped it in my skincare fridge for that extra cooling effect. I can already tell this is going to become my go-to product whenever my skin needs extra care - whether it's after laser treatments, chemical peels, or any other procedure that leaves skin sensitive. It's perfect for summer and those transitional seasons when your skin has been stressed by sun and heat and really needs some TLC. Since you can spritz this throughout the day whenever you want, if the full-size version has a good spray mechanism, it'll be perfect for anytime - morning or night, makeup or no makeup. I'm definitely planning to buy the full size!
    The sample container's spray mechanism isn't very fine, so it's hard to use it as an actual mist - you pretty much have to apply it like a serum instead.
