When I apply a generous amount during breakouts, the calming effect works really fast I honestly couldn't find any downsides. My husband, who has oily skin, thinks it's great and has already used more than half the bottle! I haven't experienced any breakouts and it works really well for me. The scent is lovely and I absolutely love the packaging. I have dry skin, and this product just didn't work for me. After applying it, the formula feels sticky and doesn't seem to absorb properly into my skin. What really disappointed me is that it later caused flaking and my makeup wouldn't set or blend smoothly over it. While the price isn't outrageous, I think I'd rather invest in a different product that suits my skin type better.

After layering it in small amounts and sealing with a drop of facial oil before makeup, my skin stayed dewy and comfortable from the moment I left home until I returned. My makeup applied beautifully too! I initially gave it three stars, but I'm bumping it up to four! The more I used it, the more satisfied I became. What I loved most was the hydration, fragrance, and how smoothly it spreads. First, the hydration It's been ages since I've used a moisturizing and soothing cream like this. At first application, it feels similar to a plump gel-textured cream and spreads smoothly across the skin. Because it's definitely a hydrating cream, you immediately feel how incredibly moisturizing it is on your skin. I think it'll be really helpful for calming down a face heated up by summer. The fragrance Even though it contains fragrance, there's a subtle hint of mugwort and centella asiatica. I love that it's not overpowering. Spreadability In gel cream form, it glides on smoothly without feeling sticky or tight, with a hydrating sensation. The absorption felt just right to me. When I applied more generously, it created a finish like a protective layer, almost like a sleeping mask, which I personally really enjoyed. The downsides I experienced were irritation and lasting power. During high pollen season when my skin was already compromised, applying this cream caused a numbing or stinging sensation around my lips, on my nose, and under my nose. Of course, other creams have had similar issues, but since this is supposed to be a soothing cream, feeling that irritation and numbness—even temporarily—was disappointing. When I applied a generous amount for that full hydration feeling, the moisture didn't seem to last as long for me. Since my skin was already irritated, the hydration probably evaporated quickly. During my testing period, I really tried to use only this product, but on drier days I felt more tightness, which worried me. That's why I ended up mixing in facial oil from home. If you're like me and find the hydration doesn't last long, I'd recommend mixing in about two drops of facial oil before applying. Or, apply the cream first, then drop one or two drops of facial oil into your palm, warm it between your hands, and gently press it all over your face to create a nourishing barrier that locks in the moisture. This really improves how long the hydration lasts!
