The brightening effect isn't quite as strong as I'd hoped. It applies smoothly and feels lightweight, which is nice, but the apricot shade tends to transfer a bit, which feels a little off. For a tinted sunscreen, the brightening power is disappointing. Combined with the apricot undertone, it actually darkens the skin rather than lifting it. If this were marketed as an apricot-tinted sunscreen, a deeper shade might work better. If you wear makeup, this could work nicely as a makeup primer substitute. It does have a slight primer effect, so if you're willing to compromise and layer it strategically, it's worth considering. Since it's summer, I've been dealing with breakouts on my nose and really focusing on my skincare routine. I absolutely hated that redness and heat sensation right before inflammatory acne would appear. Organic sunscreens with soothing ingredients were a bit irritating, and mineral sunscreens required thorough cleansing which damaged my skin barrier—it was a total mess. But I found an amazing sunscreen and I'm so happy about it! I think the zinc oxide ingredient itself helps with inflammation, because when I go out and apply just this sunscreen, all that blotchy redness that was about to turn into breakouts really calms down. Plus, it has a brightening effect, so it evens out my skin tone without needing foundation—I'm really satisfied. Please get it! By the way, the complimentary lip balm that comes with it is fantastic too. I have combination skin with barely any oil in my T-zone, but right after applying it, my face feels a bit dry.
