This palette has both shading and highlight shades with a perfect amount of product, making it super convenient to carry around. The colors look really natural too. I'm actually really satisfied with it and using it regularly, though I wish there was more product since I go through it quickly.

I was already using another brand's contour, but honestly I was so curious about the volume powder that I decided to get this instead. This is the first product to combine volume powder and contour together, so I absolutely love this combination. First, the contour has a grayish tone that felt way too dark for my shade 21 skin. The contouring effect was definitely there, but for shade 21 people who prefer natural-looking shadows, it might be disappointing. And the volume powder! I thought it would brighten and add volume like in the demo video, but honestly it didn't make much difference for me. It just felt like a powder that controlled oil. So in the end, the contour shade was too dark and the volume powder wasn't as bright as I expected, so I was let down by both colors. I think it would be better if the volume powder came in a brighter shade to really make that lifting effect pop. There are plenty of powders like this from other brands anyway. That said, this is my honest review, and since I bought it at the launch price, it was decent value for the money.

I've always been a fan of Noveau products, so when I heard they launched a new shading palette in March this year, I immediately grabbed the number 1 Taupe Gray shade for cool undertones. I did consider getting both warm and cool tones to snag the complimentary shading brush, but since I knew I'd never use the warm tone, I decided to skip it. 2. The portability is honestly amazing. It's the most convenient size among all my shading products. 3. However, the 13-15 cool tone shade is tricky to work with. The nose contour color is way too dark, and the jawline shading comes across as unnatural because of how deep it is. Plus, the brush area is so narrow that when I apply the shading brush, it picks up the highlight color too, which is frustrating. Overall, this isn't really a shading palette for me. 4. As for the highlight powder in the cool tone, there's too much yellow undertone in it. For someone with my rosy, flushed complexion, it looks pretty unnatural when I try to highlight. So I've ended up just using it lightly to define my brow bone and eyebrow area, or I use it as an eyeshadow base instead. 5. The mid-tone shade actually works great as an under-eye shadow, and the darkest shade is perfect for my lower lash line or as an eyebrow base. But honestly, I have plenty of other products that do the same thing, and I'm sure you do too. 6. At this rate, it'll probably take forever to hit pan on this palette. I can't see myself repurchasing this anytime soon. 7. I'm disappointed with the shade range for my skin tone, but if you have a cool undertone that's shade 21-23 or deeper, I think you'd really love this. The formula and convenience are great, so if the shades matched your skin tone, it would be perfect. If you have a light cool undertone like me (13-15 range), you probably don't need to buy this. For anyone with a light skin tone shade 21 or lighter, the Taupe Gray is just too dark. I'd skip it. I mentioned the downsides above too. The volume powder delivers a gorgeous ivory tone that creates a plump, bouncy finish. The shading color is a cool-toned brown that avoids any ashy or yellow undertones. Best of all, it removes easily with just a cleansing tissue when you're taking off your makeup. The shading color has lighter pigmentation when used for contouring, and for skin tone 17 and deeper, the volume powder reads too dark. It's not quite versatile enough to use as a highlighter substitute. Volume powder - Apply to the apples of your cheeks, the hollows of your cheeks, and along your nose and jawline to create beautiful dimension. I have warm undertones, but I absolutely love using cool-toned shading products. Everyone says the trend now is to keep things natural and subtle, but honestly, I'm drawn to makeup that makes a statement and really shows up. This shading does exactly that, and I'm here for it. The price point is pretty steep. Plus, you don't get a lot of product for what you're paying. I only grabbed it during a sale, and I'm not sure I'd bite at full price. I was really looking forward to this product, so I made sure to visit the pop-up store and thoroughly tested all the Novebve items! 1. First, I used the volume powder to mattify the oily areas around my nose, butterfly zone, eyes, and eyebrows. The tone is so luminous that it beautifully defines the contours of my face. 2. I applied the lighter shading color from the bottom left to create nose contouring and under-nose definition. The color is absolutely perfect for adding dimension to the nose. 3. With the deeper shading color from the bottom right, I created under-eye shadows, hollowed cheek definition, and extended my eyeliner. Since I naturally don't have much under-eye definition, I needed this deeper shade to really make that feature pop. The powder has minimal fallout and applies with even color payoff, so I'm genuinely thrilled with this high-quality purchase. Absolutely satisfied! I wish Novebve products were stocked at every Olive Young location nationwide.
