Honestly, this product speaks for itself. Lasts incredibly long. While other eyebrow pencils wear down quickly even if they're pencil-type, this one is so durable that it lasts over 2 years. If you think the price is steep, consider how long it actually lasts and you'll realize it's comparable to other products in the long run. Department store sharpening service is amazing. Yes, it's both a pro and a con, but the signature feature of this hard formula is its blade-sharp point. When you sharpen it this way, your brows practically draw themselves. The sharpening service at department stores takes just 20 seconds and it's honestly an art form. The sharpening service is tricky. Since there's no department store near me, I have to sharpen it myself and it keeps breaking, which honestly breaks my heart too. You really have to be super careful when sharpening. I watched YouTube tutorials and practiced, but I still can't get it right. The automatic version was discontinued. I bought the pricier automatic hard formula because I kept breaking the regular one while sharpening, but unfortunately it got discontinued and I can't even find refills for it. I really wish they'd bring back the automatic version for people like me who aren't good at sharpening. Sharpening practice tip: Watch YouTube tutorials first, and I'd recommend practicing with cheaper pencils or drugstore eyebrow pencils since they can break. You really need to sharpen gently. I've noticed that if you accidentally break the tip, you can still use it by positioning it higher, and sometimes it even sticks back together. About the sharpening service: The service is only available for products with the sharpening sticker attached, so you need to purchase from a department store to access it. Base makeup is essential. This pencil doesn't apply well on bare skin. I recommend doing your base makeup first before using it. You can technically apply it without a base, but it can feel scratchy on your face and it's uncomfortable.
