The color is a bit deeper brown than it appears in photos. When applied to the lips, it has that effect. The formula is like a creamy lipstick texture. It's closer to a traditional lipstick than a clear lip balm. The finish is a lipstick or lip balm shine, not a half-glossy look. Because of this, you might notice it emphasizes fine lines or dry patches. The formula doesn't provide heavy coverage for lip discoloration, but it does help even out color and tone beautifully. The staying power was quite impressive throughout the day. I found it helpful to gently wipe the inner lip area. It also works wonderfully as a cheek tint, though hair can stick to it occasionally. It worked great as a base lip product for deeper skin tones. It wasn't a nude beige exactly, and the gray undertone is a bit ambiguous. It feels more like a soft orange, then brown, then nude. Since the formula has a semi-sheer finish that lets your natural lip color show through about halfway, the color payoff will vary depending on your individual lip tone. I was a bit disappointed with the packaging, and the color wasn't quite the perfect match I expected for deeper skin tones. The shade also seems slightly different from what's shown on the website. It works great when you apply a slightly reddish tinted lip or matte lipstick first, then layer this around the edges.
