Skincare Essentials Skin Type: Combination Dehydrated Product Highlights 1. Fragrance: Fragrance-free 2. Texture: Lightweight formula that absorbs beautifully without pilling, leaving skin feeling hydrated 3. Benefits: Hydration and soothing 4. My Experience: I've loved Avène since my twenties when I lived in Germany. Honestly, all of Avène's skincare basics are fantastic. Since it's a brand dedicated to sensitive skin care, the ingredients are gentle and effective, so I trust using it completely. The Tolerance Hydrating Fluid Emulsion impresses me with both its ingredients and how well it absorbs. With hyaluronic acid for effective hydration and moisture, even a small amount creates a nourishing moisture barrier on my skin. My skin feels so refreshed that applying my base products feels smoother, and my makeup applies beautifully too! I honestly can't find any downsides! The only thing is the price point is a bit higher, but other than that, this product is flawless. The 40ml size is so convenient to carry around. This formula works year-round, and I especially love using it in summer because it hydrates beautifully without feeling sticky. It really delivers on moisture when you need it most! - eu*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMar 16, 2026 (UTC+0)
I absolutely love how gentle and hydrating this is! My skin feels so nourished without any irritation whatsoever. My only wish is that the size was bigger—it runs out so quickly with regular use. - so********Dry SkinAtopic SkinMar 5, 2025 (UTC+0)
It doesn't cause blemishes. As for hydration, it's just like you've put something on your skin, nothing special. I have very dry skin and tried this because it was supposed to be moisturizing, but it keeps pilling like dead skin. - dm*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcneBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 16, 2025 (UTC+0)
● Skin profile: Combination dehydrated skin, complex skin type varying by area, super sensitive skin, prone to excess oil production, frequent whiteheads, occasional itchy or painful blemishes, *frequent flare-ups due to dermatitis, *redness and dilated blood vessels/weakened skin condition due to steroid ointment use ● Incompatible with: Products with high concentrations of Centella Asiatica, heavy formulas, carrot pads, Dr.G cream ingredients, cypress water-based products, Mediheal tea tree ampoule, excess oil/nutrition, shea butter, orange oil, sage oil, silicones, dimethicone, pore-clogging ingredients, etc. (still exploring) I purchased this after reading reviews on Hwahae. You can skip this part if you'd like 😊 (Comments about it being good for dermatitis and troubled skin) My dermatitis is so severe that I can't live without steroid ointment. I use it every time my skin flares up... I've tried to stop, but reducing frequency is the best I can do. My entire skin has weakened, completely collapsed, and reached an irreversible state. Blood vessels have burst again in areas where I had laser treatment, and new areas are affected too. It's just extremely problematic skin. 💬 Texture/Formula I was surprised it had a typical emulsion-like texture, but once applied to the face, it doesn't feel heavy and absorbs well, feeling clean. It doesn't feel as hydrating as I expected, but it's not oily either. I recommend it for its texture and formula. However, you might need to hydrate your skin before use. 💬 Effects There were no side effects. It contains lemon peel powder, but that didn't cause any issues either. I didn't notice any reduction in dermatitis or blemishes. It's not worthy of high praise, but it's decent and good. However, there's a serious drawback for me. 😥 Drawback It pills severely, which is why I couldn't use it consistently. I wanted to use it daily whenever I wanted, but I can't use it before makeup, It keeps pilling, so I don't reach for it at night either. Even if I were to go out bare-faced, I couldn't go out after applying this cream. It pills even when applied in tiny amounts. I failed by choosing based on ingredients without testing it first... Because of this issue, I won't be repurchasing. - mi******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcneSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 8, 2024 (UTC+0)
For combination dehydrated or oily skin that's super sensitive, prone to irritation, and experiences a burning sensation, this is hands down the best item out there. The moment you apply it, you can truly feel how it settles lightly and refreshingly while calming your skin. It doesn't cause any blemishes and works wonders. Just keep in mind that it might be a bit drying in fall and winter, so either layer a serum underneath or switch to the Tolerance Control Cream for those seasons. There are absolutely no downsides. It's simply the best! Don't forget to try the Avène mist as well. - sk*******Combination SkinAcneEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedSep 18, 2024 (UTC+0)
A summer essential! It's perfect for light application in hot weather without feeling heavy on the skin. The packaging could be better. However, I understand why it's in a pump bottle given the formula's consistency. - mo*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcneBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedAug 18, 2024 (UTC+0)
It provides average hydration and absorbs well, leaving combination dehydrated and sensitive skin feeling moisturized! I think the price is too high compared to the product volume - tl*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcneAtopic SkinRecommendedAug 15, 2024 (UTC+0)
Calling all sensitive skin sufferers! Why haven't you tried this yet? As someone who's battled skin irritation for years and tried every cream under the sun, I can say this is the closest I've come to 100% satisfaction. While it's not perfect, I believe it has the simplest, least irritating ingredient list of any over-the-counter cream. It's by far the gentlest on my super sensitive skin (though nothing is completely irritation-free for me, this comes pretty close). Another plus: unlike jar packaging that lets in air and risks oxidation (which I'm also particular about), this pump dispenser keeps the product clean and fresh until the last drop. It's a game-changer for those of us with finicky skin! The price per ounce is a bit steep... Let's keep an eye out for sales and stock up when we can! - pz********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRednessRecommendedJun 7, 2024 (UTC+0)
It absorbs well and applies smoothly. I really appreciated that it has almost no scent. I have combination skin and was diagnosed with allergic contact dermatitis. Following my doctor's recommendation, I started using this after a week of no-moisturizer water cleansing. Unfortunately, it didn't suit me. It left an oily residue and caused small, pus-filled bumps to appear. I'm not sure which ingredient caused this reaction... - se*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcneBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 17, 2024 (UTC+0)
After my face broke out in blemishes from using the Centellian 24 Madeca Cream, I threw it away and went to Olive Young to buy a new emulsion. The staff member who recommends cosmetics there strongly suggested this one, so I bought it. I like that it feels light and not greasy. After using it for 5 days, my skin seems slightly calmer. The hydration seems to disappear after a while, but it might be good for summer use. It doesn't seem to have any effect on wrinkle improvement.
