Skin type: Combination and acne-prone skin As expected from a popular yet affordable product, it's great! The standout feature is how easy it is for beginners to apply! When it clumps, spreading it with the brush gives a strange, smudgy feeling It lasts longer if you set it with powder after application! - la****Combination SkinAcne SkinSep 16, 2021
The pencil lead is so soft that it glides on effortlessly without needing to apply pressure. I've been using the matte formula I bought a few years ago, and when it got stubby, I purchased a new one. However, it seems like they've completely revamped the product. I mentioned as a pro that it applies well without pressure, but that's both a pro and a con. The brow pencil feels excessively soft. When it came time to sharpen it for the first time after purchase, I tried using a knife as I usually do. Due to the hard transparent plastic part inside the wood that encases the lead, you need to apply force to sharpen it. But when you do, the overly soft lead can't withstand it and breaks, causing me to lose half the pencil. I thought, 'Let's see who wins,' and eventually tried using a pencil sharpener (not a specialized one), but it kept breaking. That's when I decided to leave a review and took a photo. I wasn't even told there was a specialized sharpener when I bought it... I was so frustrated. Now I have to go hunting for a new eyebrow pencil again. - jh*******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 27, 2020
I had been hoarding the previous version of the matte formula pencil, but when I ran out and went to buy more, I found it had been renewed. The price went up too. It applies so smoothly that I unconsciously grabbed a sharpener along with it. It's great for a natural look, but it goes on a bit dark. If you use a spoolie brush to blend it out a bit, it's just perfect. It seems to smudge off a bit easier than before. While it glides on smoothly, it has a slightly chalky texture, like charcoal or pastel. It tends to smudge in a similar way too. My hair isn't jet black, but a dark natural brown and quite fine, so I don't often use black. I recommend buying and using a cool dark brown or ash brown without any reddish tones. Just a tip for everyone! - ps*****Oily SkinAcne SkinDec 27, 2020
I bought this a while ago and it applies well. I've been using it fairly satisfactorily. The downside is that you need to sharpen it. I even had to buy a sharpener tool specifically for this product... - bo**********Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 17, 2020
It applies well even on bare skin or over basic skincare and sunscreen when there's some oiliness. The color payoff is fantastic. The attached brush is of surprisingly good quality, making it feel like a real find. The intense pigmentation is both a pro and a con. If you can't control the application well, you might end up with cartoon-like eyebrows. It's also vulnerable to water. I thought people who sweat a lot would absolutely hate using this. The color is much darker than expected. I'd recommend it for those with thick eyebrows or who prefer a bold look. Many reviews mention that regular cutters or pencil sharpeners break it, but an eyeliner pencil sharpener works well. There's a dedicated sharpener for this product - it might be worth buying together. - dj*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 30, 2020
Why do they even sell this? It's worse than a $1 product. There's absolutely nothing good about it. I paid full price for all of them, but when I tried to sharpen them, I found the cores were already broken inside. The best tip is to not buy it at all. - st****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 22, 2020
The product is incredibly smooth and provides excellent color payoff The durability is disappointingly low. The lead broke off just from lightly brushing against the cap while opening. Extreme care is needed for storage. It's crucial to use a dedicated sharpener - absolutely never use a knife to sharpen it - xx*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRednessAug 16, 2020
If you're looking for a pencil with great color payoff, this is the one to go for. It applies smoothly on the eyebrows with intense pigmentation, even without feeling greasy. This product has gone downhill since its reformulation! Absolutely avoid buying it unless it's on sale. The price has more than doubled from its previous 3,000-4,000 won range, while the formula has worsened. The pencil is much softer now, breaking easily when sharpening with an auto sharpener. There's also a plastic film inside that causes it to break even more easily when sharpening. I thought it might be defective, but both pencils were like this. Does anyone know why there's plastic in the core? It's really frustrating... I'm using it because I don't want to waste it, but I absolutely won't repurchase. - ba***************Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJul 19, 2020
It applies beautifully on bare skin. You don't need to press hard; it glides on smoothly with minimal effort. 1. The scent: I'm not sure if it's typical for wooden pencils, but the smell is really off-putting. It's not a love-it-or-hate-it situation; it's just unpleasant. 2. The price: They've attached an extremely scratchy brush and nearly doubled the price since the pre-renovation version. The value for money is terrible. 3. It smudges easily: As easily as it applies, it also comes off with the slightest touch. 4. Sharpening issues: Even with a dedicated sharpener, it's a disaster. The lead keeps breaking, and it doesn't sharpen properly. As you can see in the photo, it's completely ruined. You can still see the 'Matte Formula' label, but after a few sharpening attempts, more than half of it has disappeared. Just don't buy it! The best tip I can give you? Simply don't purchase it! - my*****Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 16, 2020
It doesn't come off easily unless you touch it. The color payoff is absolutely fantastic. The addition of a spoolie brush to the pencil after the redesign seems to be a great improvement. Even with a light hand, it applies quite intensely, which can result in overly bold brows. I wouldn't recommend this if you find drawing eyebrows challenging. I tried sharpening it with an Aritaum eyebrow pencil sharpener, but the brow lead breaks too easily. I thought it would be harder.
