For a mineral sunscreen, it doesn't cause any dryness at all. It's incredibly useful as a makeup base for dry skin. There's absolutely no pilling. Zero blemishes. It leaves a strong white cast, so you need to use just a little. It's quite oily, which led me to try 6 different sunscreens this year alone - mineral, brightening moisturizer, and chemical types. Mixing it with chemical sunscreen reduces the dryness, but it still pills when I'm trying to cover dark circles. I might have to go back to California Baby... After applying makeup, using blotting paper once helps reduce shine. Still, I prefer this to feeling tight, so sometimes I just blot the T-zone. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinNov 30, 2021
It's great that it's safe for babies to use. However, the application is heavy and it doesn't absorb well. The white cast is severe and it's difficult to apply, leaving the skin looking pale. It's challenging to apply on children. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 29, 2020
It's usually a struggle to apply sunscreen on kids as they wiggle around, but this one absorbs so quickly and smoothly, almost like an emulsion It's a bit greasy at first, causing my child's hair to stick to their face initially - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 2, 2019
It's gentle on the skin. To be honest, since I can't just apply any sunscreen on my baby, I compared many products before purchasing this one. I like the ingredients, and since I already use other California Baby products, I felt confident about this one too! I've only used it on my baby, so I'm not sure about eye irritation, but I can say for certain that it didn't cause any skin irritation. The white cast is way too severe... It's really excessive. You have to rub it in so much that when applying it to the face, my baby gets irritated from all the rubbing. It's okay to use on arms and legs, but honestly, because of this issue, I don't reach for it often. It might be good for adults to use, but for our baby, we're sticking to just using it on arms and legs...! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 4, 2018
I remember this product from high school when our gorgeous school nurse recommended it as her top pick. I finally ordered it and I'm loving it! As someone with super sensitive skin that often reacts badly, I'm thrilled to say I've had no issues at all. For those of you with blemish-prone skin, just being able to use this without any problems is a huge win! It's quite rich, so those with oily skin might want to think twice before purchasing. There's also a slight white cast, so if that's a deal-breaker for you, you might want to reconsider. It can feel a bit sticky too. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 25, 2018
I always apply this even on days when I'm not wearing makeup. It's perfect for dry skin! If you dislike a greasy feel, this might be a bit heavy for you. However, if you have parched skin like mine and prefer a bit of a glow, the rich texture could be just what you need. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 29, 2017
I used it because of the good ingredients. Since it's for kids, the shininess and white cast are unavoidable, unfortunately. The white cast was quite severe, and it was also shiny and sticky, which was disappointing. As for tips... there aren't really any. It's for children, so we have to be satisfied with the gentle ingredients. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAug 30, 2017
I started using this because my elementary school son wasn't, and I'm still using it because it's improved my complexion and gives an amazing dewy glow! Not sure about its sun protection though. I can't think of anything particularly disappointing, but it's tricky to write more than 20 characters when there's not much to say. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAug 19, 2017
Safe ingredients. Minimal white cast when applied thinly. Must be applied very thinly due to white cast. SPF is too low, requiring frequent reapplication. Makes face look shiny. Even with normal skin, pores become oily after using this sunscreen. - pe******Normal SkinJul 23, 2017
My child used this, and unlike other sunscreens, it didn't cause any blemishes. It's gentle and really nice. The white cast is quite noticeable. The cream is too thick, making it difficult to apply. It doesn't spread easily on the skin. If you pat it in well after applying, the white cast gradually disappears.
