My troubled skin has significantly improved since I started using the Shiseido Pure line It seems this product might be discontinued as I can't find it anywhere in stores... - am*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresMar 9, 2017
This would be perfect for those with oily skin. True to its oil-free claim, when I used this as part of my skincare routine before makeup, I noticed less oil production in my T-zone. It's likely to be an excellent base product for summer when you're prone to sweating a lot. For my combination skin, it was far too drying. It left my skin feeling parched. The extreme dryness forced me to stop using it after just a few weeks. I'd say this would be a nightmare for those with dry skin... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinDec 27, 2016
I've been using this product since I was 20, and it's been amazing for my combination sensitive skin for over a decade now. It seems to control oil so well! When I hit my 30s, I tried other products, but they made my skin bumpy. So I came back to this one. I love how quickly it absorbs and the feeling it gives - that's why I keep using it! It feels a bit dry in winter. However, I'm very satisfied using it during other seasons. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 5, 2016
I switched from White Lucent to Pureness, which is a step down, because the former was too harsh. As a result, I experienced fewer blemishes and the product absorbed much better. While I had fewer pimples, for some reason I developed many small bumps on my cheeks and cheekbones. Occasionally, when I applied a bit too much, my cheeks would become itchy and red, so I'd gently wipe it off with water. After that, my skin would return to normal. I've recently switched to Atomy emulsion, but I used this product for about 2-3 years until recently. When applying the moisturizer, always use an appropriate amount. If you have super sensitive skin like mine, spread a small amount thinly over a wide area. I'm currently living abroad, and here it's quite affordable and good quality. If you shop wisely, it can be even cheaper than many Korean cosmetics. Besides the moisturizer, there's also a softener. It's great to use them together, or you can pair the softener with a different emulsion for a lightweight yet clarifying effect. (As of writing this review, the Pureness softener isn't listed under Shiseido products on Hwahae...) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 18, 2016
I loved how smoothly it applies and how quickly it absorbs. It doesn't sit on top of the skin but sinks in immediately, leaving my skin feeling hydrated. I've been using it along with my toner, and I've noticed my complexion becoming brighter. The quantity is a bit on the small side. Also, it feels a bit light for use during dry winter months. I found I needed to layer it with a richer moisturizer to combat deep dryness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 20, 2016
For my oily skin, this product is quite good. It definitely has a strong oil-control effect, absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin feeling fresh afterwards. Due to its oil-control effect, it soon leads to a tight feeling on the skin. The volume is small compared to the price. It really only has an oil-control effect and nothing else. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinNov 6, 2015
The formula has a lightweight and smooth texture that absorbs well. Shiseido Pureness is a line designed for acne-prone and oily skin, and I noticed it actually has a slight oil-control effect. I liked how it seemed to reduce oiliness after application. It feels refreshing even after absorption. The pump packaging is more hygienic than the jar-type products I often use, which is a plus. The fragrance is pleasantly subtle too. Since it didn't cause any blemishes for me, I don't consider it a bad product. I repurchased it because I gave high marks for its oil-control effect and how it absorbs. The oil-control effect isn't as effective as MAC's Oil Control Emulsion or IPKN's Hydro 3 Moisture Cream. While the fragrance is nicer, that means it contains more potentially skin-irritating ingredients (fragrances), which isn't good. The refreshing feeling might be due to the denatured alcohol. The volume is a bit on the low side. I bought it along with the toner and cleanser from the same line, but this emulsion was noticeably smaller. I thought maybe I didn't need to use much, so I applied it sparingly, but it still ran out before the other products.
