This is my absolute favorite lip product. It's the perfect match for cool-toned skin, with just the right shade of red. I love how it's matte, but not overly so - it strikes the perfect balance. I always reach for this when I have an important event to attend. As a red lip color, it might feel a bit light for some. It's one of those products where you really need to try it to understand its charm. Since it's a matte formula, make sure to exfoliate your lips well before application to avoid any flakiness. - or*******Normal SkinRecommendedOct 29, 2020
Bought this because I'm a Super Mario fan. The color suits cool-toned skin beautifully. It's a bit matte, so you'll need to apply lip balm first or exfoliate well to remove dead skin cells. - yo*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 20, 2020
The Shu Uemura lipstick absorbs beautifully! I love how smoothly it glides on, making my lips feel comfortable. The 187 shade seems to be a red that straddles both warm and cool tones, but personally, I think it leans more towards the cool side. As someone with a warm complexion, I found it a bit too deep and dark when I applied it, which was disappointing. - jj**********Normal SkinRecommendedJun 8, 2019
The color is absolutely gorgeous! I used to wear MAC Ruby Woo, but it was too matte. Shu Uemura's lipstick, on the other hand, is wonderfully smooth and comfortable. It's so amazing that I can't think of any downsides. I've found my holy grail lipstick! - 79*****Dry SkinRecommendedJan 13, 2019
While the person above mentioned it's a warm-toned red, to me it looks more like a cool-toned red with a hint of pink! It would be absolutely perfect for cool-toned bright complexions! The color payoff is great, with the shade looking similar whether applied once or multiple times. In the photo, the right side shows one application, while the left side shows three. For those with cool bright skin tones, if you apply this after a flawless base, your face will truly glow! Plus, the staying power is excellent. Highly recommended! Apart from being slightly drying, this lipstick is perfect in every other way. - ha*********Dry SkinRecommendedAug 14, 2018
Color payoff: It's a pinkish red that's absolutely gorgeous, and the application is incredibly smooth. I used to use MAC Ruby Woo, but this one applies so much better! Longevity: Without eating, it seems to last over half a day, and even after a meal, it doesn't completely disappear - some color still remains. Recommended complexion: Cool tone Price: $37 Amount: 3.4g Since it's a pinkish red, I wouldn't recommend it for those who don't suit pink tones! For a smoother application and better longevity, apply a generous amount of lip balm before the lipstick, then blot with a tissue. If you prefer not to blot, just apply a very thin layer of lip balm before the lipstick. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 2, 2018
The color is truly beautiful and the matte finish is just right. It doesn't emphasize dead skin cells too much. The limited edition packaging isn't very attractive, sadly. The case feels a bit flimsy. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 27, 2018
As someone who's been loyal to MAC for ages, I've completely switched to this and even gave away all my MAC products. The texture is unlike anything I've experienced before - it glides on smoothly with a slightly moisturizing feel. Plus, it doesn't have that typical cosmetic scent. While no brand beats MAC for dead skin cell control, this one's pretty good in other aspects. The color is similar to Ruby Woo, so I'd recommend it to those who love that shade. I'm cool-toned and it suits me well, though I'm puzzled why it always turns pink on my lips...
