I typically prefer products that provide a natural coverage while keeping my skin hydrated. With my extremely dry skin, I quickly notice when my makeup looks parched. The Givenchy Prisme Libre Glow Foundation applies thinly, leaving my skin feeling moisturized and creating a natural glow. After thorough winter skincare, I find this foundation to be a reliable choice for regular use. The scent is subtly powdery, delicate, and not overpowering. I chose the shade N95, which gives a radiant ivory finish that suits neutral 21-22 complexions beautifully. The ingredient list doesn't contain many irritants, which made me feel confident in my purchase. While it may not provide an intense dewy look, I highly recommend the Givenchy Libre Glow Foundation for those seeking a natural, luminous finish. As expected from a glow foundation, its staying power is moderate. To enhance longevity, you can lightly dust some powder over it. I believe this foundation is user-friendly even for makeup beginners when applied gently with a damp sponge. For those with dry skin, using a hydrating booster serum or moisturizing primer during your skincare routine can help the foundation apply even more smoothly and keep your skin hydrated. - ca*****Oily SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRecommendedOct 23, 2024
It stays hydrated for a long time and doesn't cause any blemishes! There's no pilling with skincare products underneath, it gives a beautiful glow, and I absolutely recommend it for all the glow-seekers out there! I can't think of any downsides... Maybe it's a bit pricey? I wish it came in a wider range of shades? - 20******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 20, 2024
I have combination dehydrated skin with redness and super sensitive skin. I'm particularly vulnerable to oils, heavy oil textures, strong vitamins, and alcohol ingredients. Pores are a concern, but as I age, my skin's oiliness is decreasing and things seem to be improving naturally. My skin tends to break out when I apply sunscreen, so I'm looking for a hypoallergenic option. So far, the recently released Hera blue tube sunscreen seems to work best for me! I'm the type whose lips react badly to Chanel and YSL lip products. The product applies smoothly and evenly. The particles seem extremely fine. I like how it spreads uniformly. It's brighter than I expected. I'm the type who needs coverage for blemishes, pores, etc. This product falls short in that aspect, so I think it would be satisfactory only for those with already good skin. - 11*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinRednessRecommendedApr 10, 2024
- Ingredients I bought this product specifically for its ingredients. As someone with extremely sensitive skin prone to redness and dermatitis, I've struggled to find a suitable foundation after my go-to cushion was discontinued. My skin became even more sensitive after trying various products. Finally, I found the perfect match with Givenchy's Glow foundation! What sets it apart is the absence of common irritants found in most base makeup. It's free from stearic acid (which can clog pores), PEGs, chemical UV filters, and natural oils that often irritate sensitive skin. - Application Given my sensitive skin, I prefer glowy foundations over matte ones, as they're less irritating to remove and don't look cakey. This Givenchy foundation gives a truly radiant finish. Its unique texture is more like an emulsion than a typical foundation, making it easy to blend with fingers or a cushion puff. I prefer using a spatula for the thinnest, most beautiful application, but it should be user-friendly for those who don't use special tools. - Coverage Despite its skin-friendly ingredients and glowy formula, the coverage is surprisingly good! While I don't have major blemishes, it effectively evens out my complexion and covers redness. - Adherence The adherence is excellent. It applies so thinly that it feels like it's melting into your skin. The texture is closer to a skincare product than makeup. - Longevity It lasts well without fading, darkening, or caking. However, being a glowy formula, it can get a bit oily around the nose and surrounding areas as the day progresses. A light dusting of powder in oil-prone areas can prevent this. - Shade (For reference, I have neutral undertones and typically use a light 21 shade, sometimes going as light as 17 in darker formulas) I initially tried N80, but it was too pale even for this sheer, glowy formula. I reordered N95, which is a much better match. Unless you're a 13-17 shade, N95 will likely suit you better. There are no negatives. After six months of searching for the right base makeup, I've finally found my holy grail product! For those with sensitive skin, I recommend finding small samples online to test before committing to a full-size product. It's great that Givenchy offers separate sample sizes for purchase, which helps avoid wasting full-size products that don't work out. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedFeb 20, 2024
It looks natural and holds up well throughout the day. I love that the ingredients are gentle, so I didn't experience any blemishes. I'm satisfied that it didn't cause any blemishes. However, if you're looking for more coverage, you'll need to use a concealer. - ju*******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 20, 2023
This is the second foundation I've bought with my own money since Shu Uemura, and I was so disappointed with the first one that I stopped using it. I heard this one looked natural and could be applied with fingers, so I bought Givenchy. It doesn't feel like a typical foundation, more like a skin-toned emulsion. When you smooth it on with your hands, it gives a beautiful glow. The color is pretty, and it's even less irritating than the sunscreen I use as a base. I used to only wear BB cream or sunscreen, but this foundation feels so comfortable on my skin. I almost wanted to keep it a secret for myself, but I decided to overcome that urge and write this review. Good things should be shared! Reading other people's reviews, it seems to cover pores and uneven texture, but maybe my pores are too large because it doesn't cover them for me. Also, it applies so thinly that one layer isn't enough to cover blemishes. Applying it with your fingers like a BB cream is the easiest, but after researching, I saw people using various tools. When I tried patting it on with a damp foundation puff, it seemed to work even better. - ch******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJul 22, 2023
As someone with sensitive skin prone to atopic dermatitis and allergies, I'm extremely picky about foundation ingredients. But I've finally found my holy grail with this Givenchy foundation! I highly recommend it for those with super sensitive skin. I love a sheer, natural-looking finish, and this one delivers perfectly. Using a spatula to apply it ensures it doesn't settle into pores either. The coverage isn't particularly high, but that's actually a plus for me. - sk****Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedOct 30, 2022
It absorbs incredibly thinly, adhering perfectly to the skin! No pore-clogging, and it allows for a natural skin finish as if your complexion was already flawless. It's hydrating, so even those with dry skin can use it without emphasizing dead skin cells. If you already have decent skin and maintain a solid skincare routine, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better foundation than this. Due to its thin and sheer application, it's not suitable for those seeking high coverage. Pairs perfectly with a spatula applicator - cj**********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 7, 2022
Perfect for oily skin types, creating a smooth, natural, and sophisticated skin finish. If you love a refined complexion, this one's for you! One of the truly impressive skin-perfecting products out there is Chanel's Sublimage Le Teint... but with its price tag in the high hundreds, it's quite the splurge. This product, however, manages to capture some of that magic! While I still use Sublimage regularly, when I need a bit more even coverage, I reach for this. It often leaves me even more satisfied! That's why I find myself grabbing it more frequently. Let me break down the pros, who it's best for (and who should pass), and how it compares to other products. u220e Pros (Note: This leans more natural than high-coverage) 1) Nails the natural + elegant + luxurious skin look! 2) While natural-looking, it provides enough coverage to really even out your skin tone effectively. 3) It even manages to blur pores and texture quite well, despite not being a thick application type! These last two points are major advantages because here's the thing: when you go for full, high-coverage foundations, they can mask everything - including the natural variations in your skin that make you look, well, human. But this product? It's lightweight and lets some of your natural skin show through. You might see a hint of your skin's undertones, or how your cheeks flush slightly when you smile. Maybe even a faint freckle or two. And that's what gives you that high-end, 'expensive skin' look. It's like having flawlessly smooth skin, but with the natural contours of your face still visible, along with those charming little imperfections that make you uniquely you. That's the essence of sophistication! It's also great for those trendy flash photography shots - your skin won't look mask-like, but naturally radiant. My beloved Double Wear can't quite achieve this effect, but this one does it beautifully. It's that perfect balance of 'effortlessly cool' vibes and the confidence boost from knowing your skin texture and tone are subtly perfected. I wish there was a snappy new term for this high-end + effortless + subtly perfected skin look - it would save me from these long-winded explanations! u220e Who it's great for: 1) Those who find full-face coverage too heavy! Try this lightweight, skin-like foundation and spot conceal where needed - you'll likely be thrilled with the results. 2) Oily skin types who hate that heavy, thick feeling will probably love this. It's so light, you'll barely feel it. And while it's not drying or tight, it still manages oil quite well. It's less oily than the Chanel and leans slightly more semi-matte, but the texture itself gives a subtle, natural skin-like glow. 3) Not recommended for: High coverage lovers, those needing to cover significant redness, or those with very large pores. In those cases, Double Wear remains unbeatable. 4) It's not heavily setting, so it feels comfortable on the skin. I've never had any reactions to it. While it might not 'lock' into place, its excellent adherence means it stays put well (I'd rate its longevity as medium to medium-high). 5) When it does start to fade, it does so beautifully and naturally. No patchiness, no separating or caking like some others (looking at you, YSL). While Chanel tends to just disappear without a trace, this one fades gracefully while still providing some coverage. One caveat: In winter, if your skin isn't well-moisturized, it might look a bit patchy. But in other seasons, as long as you've got a decent moisturizing base, you should be fine. It's more forgiving than Double Wear in terms of skincare prep, which is nice. If you're in a rush, you can pair this with a concealer and have your base done in about 2 minutes! 1) If you skimp on moisturizer, it might look a bit patchy. (It's less demanding than Double Wear or Armani in terms of skincare prep, making it easier for quick application, but it can still look off if your skin is too dry.) 2) Watch out for buildup around the nose! Don't apply too much at once. I tend to get a bit careless with application tools sometimes, and if I'm too rough, it can bunch up around the nose later. For important days, definitely use a brush. 3) If you prefer higher coverage, you might be disappointed with this one. That said, it's a dream to apply with just your fingers. My mom, in her 50s, loves easy-to-apply BB cream types. Rather than hunting for a non-darkening BB cream, I gave her this. She's absolutely thrilled with it. It's natural, lightweight, doesn't emphasize wrinkles, and makes her skin look healthy without appearing heavily made-up! u220e Shade Recommendations: The color right after application differs from how it settles after a couple of minutes. Always test it and wait a bit to see the true color. When testing, I thought 105 would be perfect based on the initial application. Surprise! 95 ended up being too bright, 100 was just right, and 105 went to my mom... I'm a shade 22, neutral undertone, and 100 works great for me. To really appreciate this product, I'd recommend choosing a shade that matches your skin tone closely rather than going for a brightening effect. For those with shade 21 skin, 95 would likely be a natural-looking match! For best results, add a bit of extra moisture to your usual skincare routine, then apply sunscreen (mineral sunscreens work well), followed by this foundation. The result? A beautiful skin finish that lasts for hours! - oh*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 26, 2021
It applies incredibly thinly and naturally. Even though I have extremely oily skin, it doesn't clump up with the oils but instead creates a beautifully sheer finish. Unfortunately, I experienced an allergic reaction. My face felt rough when washing, but after applying moisturizer and resting, it became soft again when I washed it later. It's so disappointing that such a lovely product doesn't suit me. I'm not sure which ingredient is causing the issue, but I suspect it might be the fragrance.
