As it's squalane-based, I anticipated some richness. I mix a drop of jojoba oil and two drops of idebenone into the water essence and apply it as the first step (I recommend this method if you dislike the characteristic yellow residue of the ingredient). While it's common to mix oils with cream for the final step, this method isn't bad for a winter hydration fortress. I bought this because I heard it's better for brightening and antioxidant effects than Vitamin C. I've been using it well, mixing a drop or two with various creams. It's naturally rich since it's an oil, but it's great when used appropriately. Even though it's a small amount, I've used about half the bottle in three months of use. The natural pigment is quite intense, so occasionally if I don't control it well, it can stain my pillow in the morning or leave yellow marks when I blot with a tissue. ✓ A lightweight oil that's not overwhelming I usually get blemishes from creams, so I layer essences instead. But winters still left my skin feeling dry. This light oil is perfect as the final step in skincare. ✓ Contains idebenone The oil alone is great, but the added idebenone makes it feel like a win-win (It's too early to tell the effects of idebenone as I've only used it for a short time) ✓ Clearly specified ingredient amounts Knowing exactly how much of each active ingredient is included is a strong point of this brand ✗ It makes your eyes water if it gets in them I only apply a tiny bit under the eye area Two drops is just the right amount
