This was my first time trying an essence, and I found it to be gentle and non-irritating. It was also quite hydrating. If you have oily skin, I'd advise against using this. As someone with dry skin, it's okay for me, but those with oily complexions might not find it suitable. Avoid applying this to any broken skin. The burning sensation is unbearable. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinFeb 28, 2015
As someone with severe atopic dry skin, even after applying toner, emulsion, and cream, my skin would dry out again within minutes. But when I applied this starter immediately after washing my face in the bathroom, followed by the rest of my skincare routine, my skin stayed hydrated for much longer. There was no feeling of tightness or irritation. Since it works well for my extremely dry skin, those with oily skin might find it a bit too rich and potentially greasy. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJan 21, 2015
I bought this as a temporary starter since I couldn't find the one I was looking for. In the end, it didn't seem to suit my skin well. It's quite rich, so I only apply about a pinky nail's worth. It might work well for those with very dry skin. The texture is semi-transparent, not too runny, but has some viscosity. It absorbs well. My U-zone is dry while my T-zone is slightly oily. After applying, my skin feels tight and stuffy, becoming more like oily skin. However, it didn't cause any blemishes! - su******Combination SkinAcne SkinJan 18, 2015
I apply this after toner as my essence step, and it's fantastic at combating dryness. I tried a sample first and loved it so much that I've been using it consistently ever since. The texture is a bit rich, so use just a small amount. It's best to apply it when your toner is still slightly damp on your skin.
