The color is absolutely stunning. It's not your run-of-the-mill shade. It truly embodies the essence of the jungle. Compared to MAC's bullet lipsticks, it's more hydrating. The application is smooth, and the color payoff is vibrant. While I didn't notice any particular drawbacks, I find that using matte lipsticks in winter tends to exacerbate dead skin cells on my lips. As a result, I'm less inclined to reach for it during the colder months. - gm*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 29, 2019
The color is absolutely gorgeous!! I have a complexion that uses shade 21, and I'm a warm tone that doesn't suit orange hues. This shade lights up my face like a fluorescent bulb! It's perfect as an accent color. The downside is that it doesn't last as long as a tint... Well, it's a lipstick after all, so I guess I can't expect too much in that department. - ha*********Combination SkinRecommendedMar 13, 2019
This seems like a great introduction to red lipstick. While it looks like a straightforward red at first glance, it actually makes your complexion appear brighter. Many people say they use it as a bold accent color, but I apply it lightly over lip balm and find it works well for everyday wear. It's semi-matte, so when applied over lip balm, it has just the right amount of moisture. The price is a bit steep... Given the cost, I strongly recommend trying a tester before making a purchase. - wl******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 15, 2019
I was looking for an honest red shade since I'm not a fan of orange-reds, and that's how I ended up buying this. It's a slightly darker shade than a clear red, and it's beautiful! If you're searching for a true red, I'd definitely recommend this. The formula is semi-matte, which might slightly emphasize dead skin cells. Unlike the Audacious line, it doesn't have a magnetic cap and is a bit smaller in size. I actually prefer the smaller size as it fits well in my makeup pouch. Well... honest reds are quite common and can be found in many drugstore brands too. The color is gorgeous, but it's something you could easily find elsewhere. If you're set on getting a true red from NARS, this product is the most suitable. However, if brand isn't a priority for you, there's no pressing need to buy this specific one. Apart from this point, everything else about it was great! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 11, 2019
This is truly a holy grail product. While many people consider MAC's Ruby Woo their holy grail, it wasn't for me. However, this one is absolutely perfect and smells wonderful too. It feels great every time I apply it. It looks red at first glance, but upon closer inspection or when applied to the lips, it's a red with orange undertones. Advantages: - Doesn't accentuate dead skin cells - Brightens the face - Keeps lips hydrated For reference: I'm not sure of my exact skin tone, but I think I'm warm-toned and have a lot of autumn-colored clothes. Pinkish-red lipsticks with a hint of purple suit me well. There are no drawbacks. I can confidently say it's absolutely top-notch. - km*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 7, 2018
I'm writing this review with a heavy heart, mourning the loss of my beloved Jungle Red lipstick. Oh, what a fantastic lipstick it was! Before discovering Jungle Red, I always thought red didn't suit me, regardless of whether it was warm or cool-toned. So I stuck to burgundy shades. When I first applied Jungle Red, I thought the bright coral undertone was too much and relegated it to the back of my vanity. But one day, I tried it on bare skin, and to my surprise, it looked amazing! From then on, it became my go-to for a quick, effortless everyday look (until I lost it, sadly). It's not a cool-toned red at all, but rather a warm-leaning red (coral-red) that even cool-toned folks can pull off without issue. What's truly fascinating is that while I usually can't wear warm lipsticks, this one suits me perfectly! It's so dry that I always had to apply lip balm underneath. I usually love matte lipsticks, but this one has a crayon-like texture that makes it incredibly difficult to blend when applied directly to the lips. Apply over lip balm for best results. The color payoff is absolutely fantastic! The staying power is so impressive that if you apply it in the morning and touch up at lunch, it lasts all day. However... be careful with your teeth. You might suddenly find yourself looking like Dracula... - so******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 15, 2018
The signature red tone of NARS. The color is clear and beautiful. Some people call it an orange-red, but it's more of a vibrant scarlet? It has a bright, vivid scarlet hue. The application isn't great, and the biggest disappointment is the color payoff. If you're used to MAC bullets, this one takes some getting used to. It's not about the shade, it just feels like it doesn't show up well! Those who prefer a sheer application might enjoy it. But for regular red lipstick wearers, this falls short. The quantity is small for the price too. I only used it because I didn't want to waste it. Applying a moderate amount of lip balm before use helps with the color payoff. - hw*****Dry SkinRecommendedMay 7, 2018
I bought this product while searching for a versatile red lipstick. While some international websites claim it's for yellow undertones, opinions in Korean forums are mixed, with some bloggers even insisting it's for cool tones. It's a red with a slight pink tinge, but I'd say it's a beautiful shade that suits various complexions. As someone with a warm undertone, I find it works well for me without looking out of place. I especially love how it gives a lively appearance, which is why I use it so often. It's truly a gorgeous color that pairs well with orange, dusty rose, or pink when layering. In terms of application, while it's not exceptionally smooth like some matte lipsticks, it applies evenly without clumping. It even worked fine on my dry lips. The only downsides are its small size and that the case can get dirty easily. But that's about it! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 23, 2018
I use NARS Manhunt as my holy grail lipstick daily. It removes easily but doesn't last long, so when I saw this similar one in-store, I snatched it up right away. As I thought, it's quite similar to Manhunt's matte finish. The color is also close to MAC's Ruby Woo - a blue-toned red. When applied lightly, it gives a pink-red hue. Side note: I wish I could write reviews for Niagara and Manhunt, they're truly beautiful. Niagara is a pink MLBB, perfect for cool-toned folks. Try layering a red lipstick over it for a stunning look. Manhunt is more well-known, often described as a 'watermelon pink-red,' which is spot on. It's absolutely fantastic. As a cool-toned 13 shade, I'm on my second tube of Manhunt! The scent? It's a bit too raw, but I suppose it's better than having added fragrances.
