According to the product description, it claims to provide the effects of double cleansing and toning without the need for separate steps, but I still used a foam cleanser and toner afterwards. The advantage is that it seems more useful when you've only applied sunscreen or a brightening moisturizer, making oil cleansing unnecessary. I don't typically wear heavy eye makeup, so I've been using this product instead of oil cleanser followed by a light foam cleanser, and it seems to cleanse quite well. The scent is not great. It's not overpowering, but it's not unscented either - there's a slight smell. It doesn't remove mascara or waterproof eyeliners effectively, so you need to remove those separately. It stings quite a bit if it gets in your eyes, making it difficult to remove eye makeup. While it leaves the skin feeling hydrated, you still can't skip using a toner. The packaging, which requires squeezing the product out of a tube, is somewhat inconvenient to use. - ko**********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 14, 2022
Leaves skin moisturized after cleansing, no irritation, pleasant scent, doesn't cause blemishes, using my second bottle Pump dispenser breaks easily, price is a bit steep, requires double cleansing - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 7, 2021
On days when I wear heavy makeup, I always reach for this product! I lightly dampen my face with water, then gently massage five drops of the cleanser onto my skin. It's amazing how it effortlessly removes lipstick, foundation, eyeshadow, brow products, and blush. The makeup just melts away, leaving my skin clean and fresh! However, it doesn't remove mascara very well, so I still need to use a cleansing oil for that. The scent is also quite divisive - some people find it unpleasant. Lastly, it doesn't foam up much, which makes it hard to call it a true cleansing foam. These are significant drawbacks in my opinion. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 8, 2021
Great cleansing effectiveness and pleasant scent. Unfortunately, it's not the right fit for me, so I don't have much else to say. I have combination sensitive skin. After using this, I experienced dead skin cells around my eyes, nose, and mouth (probably due to excessive dryness) and intense tingling... No matter what emulsion I applied afterward, my face had a burning sensation. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 4, 2021
I've been using this for 10 years. It's so convenient because I can remove even mascara with just this one product. Some say the scent isn't great, but I've been using it for so long that I can't tell if it's bad or not. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 4, 2020
Using the large size, it lasts quite a while! I'm using it as my first cleansing step, massaging it onto dry skin and then wiping off with a cotton pad. It's so gentle that it doesn't stress my skin at all, which is why I'm already on my second bottle! The cleansing effectiveness isn't super strong, so it doesn't completely remove eyeliner. That's why I'm using a separate eye makeup remover. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 3, 2020
As someone with very dry skin, I often find that strong cleansers leave my face feeling tight. However, this cleanser is different - it's so gentle that there's absolutely no tightness after use. It's also mild enough that it doesn't sting my eyes. I've been using it consistently and I'm really happy with it. The only downside is that it's not great for deep cleansing. On days when I wear heavy makeup, I need to do a second cleanse. I've found that using Philosophy's Micro Delivery as a second cleanse works wonders - it even helps manage blackheads effectively. (Though I should note, this is for skin that doesn't have severe blackhead issues.) - ja********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 20, 2020
I start my morning cleansing routine with Philosophy. It feels so gentle on the skin. I was genuinely shocked to discover it contains more harmful ingredients than I expected. However, despite having super sensitive skin, I've used it for a long time with good results. While it's not strong enough for removing makeup, it's perfect for morning cleansing before applying makeup. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry, which is really helpful. - cj******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 19, 2020
The cleansing effectiveness was pretty good. While it didn't completely remove mascara, it cleaned off everything else nicely. The scent is really unpleasant. I occasionally felt a stinging sensation in my eyes, so I wouldn't recommend it for super sensitive skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 21, 2020
It's more like a cleansing milk than an oil cleanser. It's definitely less irritating, but I'm not sure about its cleansing effectiveness. It barely removes eye makeup. You need to dampen your face first, then massage it all over, and follow up with a second cleanse for sure.
