What more needs to be said? It's MAC after all! I bought this right after getting a color analysis and recommendation. It doesn't emphasize dead skin cells, and the color is absolutely perfect for cool-toned dark skin. It's a match made in heaven! If you're not a cool-toned deep/dark skin type, you might find this challenging to pull off. The intense color is quite particular, so it's very dependent on your complexion. That's the downside. When I feel it's too dark or want something a bit brighter, I mix it with Rom&nd's Pink Sand. If it weren't for this product, my lips would be nonexistent... It's my daily go-to that stays put perfectly. I highly recommend this for those with a slightly darker light undertone. This shade seems perfect for cool-toned deep winter complexions. If deep purple lips suit you, I highly recommend it! It doesn't have any warm undertones - it's a true cool-toned lip color. When I first bought it, the application was quite stiff, but with frequent use, it glides on smoothly with beautiful color payoff. Since the lip color is so intense, it doesn't change my natural lip color like lighter shades do (which can sometimes turn neon-like on me). Instead, it applies true to color, which I love. The lip color is quite dark, so if you're not a deep winter complexion, it might make your face look washed out. Wearing it as a full lip color for everyday life might feel a bit overwhelming. As a winter cool-toned person, I bought this because I wanted to wear a burgundy lip. When I applied it alone, it didn't look too flashy on me. However, I think it might give off that stereotypical 'outdated' vibe for those whose skin tone doesn't match well with it. While I feel slightly disappointed with the ingredients, to be honest, I didn't notice any issues when actually using it, so I didn't deduct any stars for that.

I was hesitant to buy it because the official website's color swatches looked too dark, but I'm glad I did. It applies smoothly. It's especially great for a subtle makeup look with this as a pop of color. Perhaps because the color is so intense, it tends to emphasize dead skin cells quite a bit. When I applied it while my lips weren't in the best condition, even though it went on smoothly, the flaky skin became quite noticeable. This was the first lip product I bought after getting my winter deep tone analysis. The color in the tube looked so dark I wasn't sure I could pull it off, but once applied, it's absolutely perfect for me. Since it's not a tint, it comes off easily. I tend to get a lot of dead skin cells on my lips, and as expected with a lipstick, it does highlight the flakiness a bit.
