1. Flat Out Fabulous For summer cool tones and winter cool tones, this is the most recommended color among MAC lipsticks. Summer types can apply it with light dabs and layer lip balm or gloss on top for a perfect accent color. Winter cool tones can rock this shade with a gradient effect or as a full lip color. The Retro Matte line is both a pro and a con. While the staying power is truly impressive, it's extremely drying. The texture feels like applying a crayon to your lips. - jy*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 27, 2025
It's a lovely pink with a hint of purple. While it looks pretty on its own, I found it even more beautiful and pigmented when mixed with other MAC lipstick shades. Due to its matte finish, it can be tricky to apply if you have dry lips. For a smooth application, make sure to use lip balm and exfoliate beforehand to remove any dead skin cells. Be cautious if you have sensitive skin, as it contains several potentially irritating ingredients that may cause blemishes. - dr*******Dry SkinRecommendedDec 5, 2022
I love the matte texture that doesn't leave any shine - it's exactly the finish I prefer. The color is unique and beautiful too. It really brightens up my complexion. Even lipsticks that don't match my skin tone work well when I gently layer them over this as a base. While the matte texture is nice, it's quite drying when applied as a full lip color. - yy****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedNov 24, 2022
A subtle magenta-purple shade that's not too flashy. As someone with a cool summer complexion, I sometimes find my lip color lacking vibrancy. Dabbing this on top adds a lovely touch of life to my look. The color is quite intense, so I only use a little at a time. As a result, the product seems to last forever, which makes me a bit concerned about its shelf life... The formula is on the dry side, so make sure to take good care of your lips before applying it. - ma*********Combination SkinRecommendedNov 2, 2021
The color is absolutely stunning. It's a beautiful blend of pink with a subtle hint of purple, reminiscent of azalea blossoms, creating a lovely, not-too-overwhelming shade. If your lips are dry, it may accentuate dead skin cells, so it's important to keep your lips well-moisturized. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 5, 2021
I've found my holy grail lip product! Even my mom, who always insists I wear 'sick lips', asked if I was wearing makeup when she saw me with this on. When I told her it was just lipstick, she admitted it really suits me - a historic victory! Winter Brights, if anyone asks about a perfect lip color, hold your head high and show them Flat Out Fabulous! It applies a bit stiffly, but honestly, given the current situation, I'm not really complaining about the improved staying power. - 24*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 12, 2021
I use shades 17-19, suitable for winter deep/bright complexions. This color is absolutely perfect! If you have a cool undertone, this is a must-have shade. While it's a retro matte type, so the texture isn't super smooth, the matte finish complements this color beautifully. It may look like a harsh purple at first glance, but when applied, it's a cool, stunning plum pink. It's like purple with a touch of pink mixed in. I prefer applying lipstick in a full lip style, and when I carefully line and fill in my lips, it creates such a sophisticated look. That's why it's one of my all-time favorite lipsticks! There's nothing to dislike about it. I absolutely adore this color! This could be a holy grail lip color for those with winter bright skin tones! Try using a lip brush to line and fill your lips completely - it looks incredibly beautiful. And don't forget, exfoliating your lips is essential! - hp******Combination SkinRecommendedMay 6, 2021
Among fuchsia shades, this one leans more towards the blue side. While I'm not a personal color expert, I feel it would suit bright cool-toned individuals particularly well. The matte finish tends to accentuate dead skin cells a bit. Just because it's a cool tone doesn't mean it suits everyone, so I think the range of people who can pull this off flawlessly might be limited. Since it's a brighter shade, I think it would look beautiful layered with slightly darker lip products. It seems like it would be especially flattering on those with fair and clear complexions. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedApr 20, 2021
The champion of purple lipsticks! True to the Retro Matte line, it's not drying, doesn't emphasize dead skin cells or fine lines, and doesn't smudge! Pair it with a light pink lipstick, and your lips bloom like a rhododendron flower! Spring has arrived on your lips! The Korean retail price is quite high. It's much cheaper if you buy multiple through international shopping. - wl*******Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 12, 2020
The photo makes it look too red and intense, but in reality, it's more like 70% purple and 30% pink, which suits my winter cool tone perfectly. The color might seem a bit severe, but it's not harsh at all when applied with makeup. Also, smokers will appreciate this - unlike most lipsticks that transfer onto cigarettes, this MAC one barely leaves a mark. While the application feels a bit dry, it doesn't clump up. The dry texture makes it feel stiff when applying. The color is too bold for a bare face look. Exfoliation is a must before using this product.
