I bought this solely for the cherry scent! It has a sweet cherry candy fragrance that's light and pleasant, not overpowering. Compared to the original, only the scent is different - the feel when using it is similar. The fragrance doesn't last very long. It doesn't particularly soften dry hair. The subtle cherry fragrance that wafts through my hair always puts me in a good mood whenever I apply it. It also seems to have decent staying power. If you apply it even slightly too much, your hair will become completely matted... Despite being an oil formula, it's not overly slippery or sticky when applied by hand compared to other products, which I really appreciate. The moisturizing effect lasts quite a long time too. I've noticed from other reviews that the scent is quite divisive, but our whole family loves it, so we're using it with great satisfaction. I have no complaints other than wishing the scent would last a bit longer!

I love the subtle, rich cherry scent. It's perfect for fall, winter, and spring. Right after drying my hair, I squeeze a generous amount onto a large plastic comb and apply it. Then I gently work it through small sections of hair with my fingers to help it absorb. Finally, I blow dry and I'm done! Since it's an oil, if your hair is really damaged, you might want to use it along with an ampoule and a leave-in treatment. My hair is curly, but I don't perm or dye it, so I just use this on its own as a bit of a wild card. Apply generously when hair is damp for best results.
