A product with decent value for money. Despite its thick consistency when applying, it effectively covered redness and yellow undertones. While it evened out the complexion better than expected, it left dry areas feeling tight and flaky. Trying to pat it in for better adherence only made it sit on top of the skin and look cakey. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 28, 2020
I've tried many products for my severe redness, but this one is perfect in terms of coverage, staying power, and various other aspects, so I'm repurchasing. When my skin is in really bad condition, it can look quite flaky. However, I think that's unavoidable in those situations... - ju*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 17, 2019
It does a decent job of concealing redness, feels moisturizing when applied, and then sets to a nice matte finish, which I really liked. At first, it felt hydrating and seemed fine, but as time passed, it started to look a bit patchy on my skin. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedDec 26, 2018
It's affordable and I've been using this makeup base for 10 years to control redness. It's a staple in my routine. Be careful, it might make your face look disconnected from your neck. Make sure to blend it well down to your neck. - cn*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 17, 2018
The color correction works well and it doesn't leave a greasy finish! It doesn't cause my makeup to pill either! When first applied, it feels quite thin and moisturizing, and initially I thought the color correction wasn't working. But when I put foundation on top, I saw a real difference! It's affordable and comes in a generous amount, which is great. The ingredients are disappointing... Parabens, really? For those with an olive complexion that has a greenish undertone, you might find it works well if you mix this with your foundation. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedOct 26, 2018
After the Skinfood Grape Base was out of stock for a long time, I tried looking for other bases, but none of them were satisfying no matter how much I used them. However, this one is moisturizing and really nice. The scent is a bit disappointing. Also, it's completely green, so if you don't spread it well, you might end up looking like Shrek! - yj******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 16, 2018
It's affordable. You get a lot of product for the price. It has a slight cooling effect while being hydrating! I have rosacea on my forehead due to my constitution, and contact dermatitis on my chin. My whole face has redness, with my forehead and chin being particularly severe... almost to the point of being red. I've always used cushion products for base makeup, but I bought a few foundations and BB creams to try and cover the redness. These days, when you look at blogs or YouTube, they use so many different products like makeup bases, color correctors, concealers, and contouring products, right? So I decided to give this product a try. It doesn't cover my redness at all, which is too intense. I expected a light emerald tint, but... it's greener than I thought. My skin is quite yellow and red, so after applying it, I end up looking ashy. Instead of brightening my complexion, it makes me look dark. It's like looking at a black and white photo... I guess I should blame my complexion. I'd recommend it for its value for money though. If you have a solid skincare routine and then apply this makeup base, your skin feels hydrated. Yeah... That's right. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinApr 12, 2018
Great value for money. I think I paid around $6 online, and the amount is generous. I bought it to practice applying base makeup, and there's still plenty left... When first applied, it has a brightening effect. It also does a good job of covering redness, so I used to wear it often when my skin was flushed. The scent might be strong for some, but I personally found it fine. The staying power doesn't seem very strong. The brightening effect seems to fade a bit, but as for covering redness and such effects, hmm...? Also, I got a ton of small blemishes. And I don't usually break out easily. There's still a lot left, but I might have to throw it away. Personally, I mixed it with sunscreen, which seemed to improve its longevity. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinMar 11, 2018
This product was pretty decent overall! • Affordable price with generous amount • Leaves skin feeling soft and matte • Naturally evens skin tone • Base tends to settle into pores • Difficult to control the amount applied It might be worth giving it a try! I recommend applying it with your hands instead of using a puff! - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 11, 2017
I bought this to cover the redness around my nose and mouth where I have visible blood vessels. While a concealer might have been more effective, this makeup base is fantastic as a true base. I have dry, flaky skin, but after my skincare routine of mist, toner, emulsion, and cream, followed by sunscreen (or sometimes applying this base directly), it glides on smoothly and brightens my complexion. I didn't feel any dryness at all. The scent might be divisive, but I find it pleasant. I used to think BRTC was just an old brand, but there's clearly a reason they've been around so long. I'm thrilled to have found an affordable, reliable makeup base that works for me. It doesn't dramatically cover redness, but it does help neutralize the ruddiness around my nose and cheekbones. The green tint can be effective if used correctly. However, for more dramatic coverage, you'll need to invest in a concealer. There's a great coupon deal when you buy multiple items from the BRTC base line on Wemakeprice! It's a real bargain. All in all, it fulfills its role as a makeup base.
