The difference between applying this before your base makeup and not using it is truly night and day. It's more hygienic and effective than using a setting spray after makeup. It ensures perfect adherence without any pilling or separation, maintaining your makeup flawlessly for hours without darkening. The bottle is the size of a standard toner, which makes it larger than typical primers. This can make it inconvenient to carry around. For on-the-go use, I recommend transferring some into a small travel container. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 6, 2021
It makes your skin look beautifully smooth without any patchiness. It adheres well to the skin and improves the appearance of your skin texture. Your complexion looks brighter. Occasionally, it can pill and after some time, it tends to get a bit oily. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 13, 2021
The difference between applying and not applying the finisher is significant. When I apply foundation after the finisher, it definitely doesn't look patchy and adheres seamlessly to my skin. I've tried a few other primer samples from VDL, but they were too rich for my skin. In contrast, this product isn't overly oily, making it a great match for my complexion. Well, I haven't used it much yet, so I'm not really sure... - Hwahae UserDry SkinJun 25, 2020
It applies smoothly without any patchiness or deep dryness. It adheres well to the skin and gives a subtle glow. I really love it! It goes on softly and has great staying power. When it breaks down, it feels like oil is spreading all over, so I end up not using it in summer. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 19, 2020
I used this a lot about 4 years ago when I was in college. The difference between applying makeup with and without this was striking - it made everything adhere so much better. It was especially amazing when paired with the VDL Lasting Foundation. My T-zone is very oily while my cheeks are normal, but this primer made my foundation stick perfectly without separating. It gave me a natural, beautiful glow with just a small amount, as if I naturally had great skin. I tried it once at a makeup counter and bought it without hesitation. Even when it starts to wear off, it fades beautifully and blends with the foundation. It has great longevity and doesn't cake up on the face over time. The scent is slightly reminiscent of a salon, which I personally like. It has a subtle purple tint, but of course, it goes on clear with a subtle shimmer. However, I'm not using it now. Somehow it ended up crushed in a corner of my vanity and got neglected. I've bought so many other base products and foundations that this one got pushed aside. I still have a bit left, so I'll give it another try soon. Like the VDL Lasting Foundation, I realized the ingredients in this aren't that great. Also, since it functions as both a finisher and primer, it can feel a bit heavy on the skin. Update: Oh no, I wanted to use this again because nothing else compares, but I found out it's been discontinued. The trendy serum bases these days don't work for me and make my skin look patchy. This pairs better with the VDL Lasting Foundation than any other foundation. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 21, 2018
Oh my goodness, I absolutely love this product! I initially tried a sample from the store, and it didn't cause any blemishes while making my makeup look flawless. I've been using it for two months now. Usually, no matter how much moisturizer I apply or how hydrating my skincare routine is, my Double Wear foundation would start to look a bit patchy by the time I finished my eye makeup. But since using this, my skin looks beautifully hydrated and my complexion appears flawless! The makeup lasts longer too. It's truly my holy grail product. You absolutely must buy this! There are no real downsides! Though if you're looking for a super dewy finish, you might be a bit disappointed. It doesn't give an intense glow or anything like that. It just provides a nice, balanced level of hydration. My routine goes: toner, emulsion, this beauty finisher, sunscreen, primer, then foundation. The key is in the amount you use - if you apply too much, you won't see the benefits. It can actually make your makeup look worse if you overdo it. Just use a small amount and it's seriously an amazing product! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinNov 18, 2017
The makeup feels like it really adheres well, which I like! At first, it seems to take a bit of time for the product to fully absorb into the skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 20, 2017
My skin is dehydrated, but when I apply this and do my makeup, the foundation adheres perfectly to my skin. It absolutely does not cake or flake, and the foundation wear time is also improved. It applies like a lotion, but it feels a bit slippery, as if the absorption is slow or there is too much oil. There are more positives than negatives. I would recommend this to those who struggle with makeup caking or breaking down. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJul 21, 2017
First of all, I'm a bit of a casual user, but the foundation doesn't look cakey and blends in really well. Definitely lasts longer on the days I wear it! It also seems to give a nice, subtle glow haha At first, I didn't know any better and just applied it like a regular lotion, but it was really sticky, so I had to wash my face and redo my makeup.. Controlling the amount seems to be the key As I mentioned before, controlling the amount is the key! If you get the amount right, it really makes the makeup look great that day, and for those who it works well for, it could be a holy grail product! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 28, 2017
It definitely looks less cakey and less drying. While I wouldn't say it's perfect, I'd still be reluctant to do my makeup without it. The packaging is way too big ㅜㅜ They should've made it a bit smaller instead. I think it's better to apply it after your skincare routine and let it absorb for about a minute or so.
