When applied after your skincare routine, it locks in moisture, preventing foundation from caking and improving makeup longevity. Especially recommended for dry or combination skin types! The scent isn't great, reminiscent of perm solution. However, it's not overpowering, so it's still usable. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 19, 2018
After pregnancy, I used to feel like foundation would sit on top of my skin, so I tried this in-store before buying. I'm not doing my makeup daily like before, and I've been neglecting skincare routines like exfoliation and masks. However, when I apply makeup after using this finisher, my skin feels much more calm and hydrated. Perhaps because I'm pregnant, but the artificial fragrance feels overwhelmingly unpleasant to me. I have very dry skin, but if I apply emulsion or moisturizer before the finisher, it pills up like dead skin cells. Instead, I tone my skin, then pat on another layer of toner, followed by a mix of toner and a drop of serum. After that, I apply the finisher. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 28, 2018
This product creates such a beautiful skin finish! Previously, I used to apply just a moisturizing pearl base before foundation, but now I layer this as a base, followed by the pearl base and then foundation. It fills in uneven texture and gives me a smooth, flawless complexion! The best part? This look lasts all day long! Plus, you get a generous 50ml - that's a lot of product. Highly recommended! If I had to pick one minor drawback, it might be the scent. It has a typical cosmetic fragrance, but it doesn't linger for long. Stock up when it's on sale! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 24, 2018
When I apply makeup over this, my cushion foundation goes on evenly. The application isn't bad either, it absorbs well. Like other VDL products, the ingredients aren't particularly great. With silicone (dimethicone) high on the list, it causes minor blemishes and makes my skin more sensitive. Even the scent is like chemicals, which doesn't make me want to use it. I bought it because of the high ratings, but I'm not sure about its effectiveness. Don't expect a smooth finish or that 'Inner Glow' look. While it does help makeup apply evenly, it feels like the skin doesn't really absorb it well. With so many better alternatives out there, I'm not sure it's worth buying. For me, it was a waste of money. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 22, 2018
It has a moisturizing feel... Seems good for those who want a glowing makeup look The scent was too chemical-like, which made me reluctant to use it. I don't want to repurchase this product - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 3, 2017
I initially used this as a sample, but I liked it so much that I ended up buying the full-size product. I usually don't like to apply a heavy base, so I've been using this product as a base instead. It feels like applying a moisturizing cream. It's lightweight, hydrating, and seems to improve the longevity of my foundation, even when I don't wear any. The scent is a bit unpleasant, but I can tolerate it. I've been using this daily, especially in the winter, and I plan to repurchase it! The smell... it's like a chemical product? It has a strange, unpleasant odor, but other than that, it's good. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSep 26, 2017
It plays a big role in creating a life-like skin. It gently smoothens the surface and brings out a subtle glow, giving a truly natural blurred effect! The scent was a bit... there was a hint of alcohol, which was a bit of a bummer... ㅠㅠ Think of it as filling in the areas around the nose or contours, and apply it thinly and let it dry completely before layering foundation or BB cream! Don't rub it too much or it will all come off! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 29, 2017
Even a small amount was enough to make my skin feel amazing. Although it doesn't have pore-covering or tone-correcting functions, it keeps my makeup in place much better than a regular moisturizer and helps it blend in well. I went to Yeouido Park and was out in the wind all day, but my base makeup stayed flawless, which was really surprising. The only downside is that the fragrance is similar to fabric softener, which feels a bit too artificial. Apply it before your sunscreen, and be sure to apply an extra layer on drier areas like around the eyes. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 29, 2017
I have sensitive and dry skin. When I use foundation-like coverage products, they feel heavy and don't apply well. And if I apply a lot of skincare products, the makeup gets cakey and flakes off. So I switched to a more hydrating type of coverage product. But the more hydrating it is, the more moisture, oil, or essence it contains, so the coverage tends to be lighter. The beauty finisher, however, helps keep my skin hydrated with just a small amount, so I can apply my skincare products more thinly. And even after it's fully dried, the coverage product still applies well, which is really great. The fabric softener fragrance is quite strong, so those who dislike scents may want to smell it in person before purchasing. For drier areas like the cheeks, apply a pea-sized amount. For oilier areas like the forehead, nose, and chin, use an even smaller amount. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 10, 2017
I'm not really sure what the good points are. I have dry skin, and as I've gotten older, my skin has become very dry and parched. No matter what I apply, it just seems to disappear from my skin. I bought this product because they said it would make my skin feel moisturized and hydrated, but... This product just doesn't work for me. First of all, I have dry, sensitive skin, so even the slightest impurity or misapplication can cause breakouts. They go away quickly, but whenever I use this, my skin looks red and irritated after removing my makeup at night. When I don't use it, my skin doesn't get red like that. I read the Hwahae Trial Reviewer comments carefully, and a lot of people mentioned the fragrance, which I agree has an almost 'old man' kind of smell. And fragrance isn't good for the skin either, so it would be better if they could remove it. Anyway, it's not even that moisturizing, and I really didn't like it. I still don't know what kind of makeup base I should use to overcome my dry skin. But for those with dry skin, applying a few drops of oil before foundation can really help a lot. Using just a few drops of oil seems better for the skin than this product.
