This product's strength lies in its powerful hydration, but unfortunately, it doesn't absorb well. Although it looks transparent and seems like it would glide on easily, no matter how much you massage it in, it doesn't seem to penetrate the skin deeply. If you apply it at night, you'll wake up to find it still sitting on your skin's surface, feeling slippery when you rinse with water. That's really the only drawback of this product! However! I found a way to use it that works great. First, after cleansing, apply your skincare routine thoroughly while your skin is still slightly damp. Then, for the last step, slather on your moisturizer, pat it in well, and before that hydration disappears, apply this Activate Cream evenly, almost like you're coating your skin. Then!! When you wake up and rinse with water, the Activate Cream on the surface washes away, revealing the moisture from your night cream that's been preserved all night! It's also useful when applying makeup. It's especially good for preventing your skin makeup from drying out and flaking off in the harsh winter winds. No matter how much time I spend on my skincare routine and carefully applying my makeup base, if I'm out in the cold winter air for too long, all the moisture in my skin evaporates. My skin becomes as dry and cracked as a winter tree, and when I get home and look in the mirror, foundation is just caked in my pores - it's really unsightly! So, when it's windy and cold in winter, or when my skin feels particularly dry, I always apply a thin layer of this cream before my skin makeup. This helps my makeup last longer, even in harsh winds, by preventing moisture loss from my skin. I especially use this cream as the final step in my skincare routine before applying Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation. Just make sure to really pat in the foundation to increase adherence. Anyway! Because this cream doesn't absorb well on its own, I use it as a moisture-locking cream. I usually buy 1-2 jars every year from late autumn to early summer. Try using it this way! It's a bit pricey, but if you try it as I've suggested, you'll see why it's worth it!
